People were friendly and helpful in the Zona Rio area. But you are still landlocked. Walking past buildings with bars on the windows and not much green space to speak of, except at higher-end accommodations. Expect long, LONG waits if driving back over the border into California ...there's a whole street industry...food, music, window cleaning, art, trinkets of all kinds for you to spend your coin. People will even watch your car while you go to the bathroom during your 2-5 hr wait time... Many lanes available, but only about 5 open and 15 closed...hence the street industry...

We love Tijuana.
We love Tijuana. We lived and worked there 50 plus years ago, and were pleasantly surprised of the vibrant change and progress in all areas the advancement in building and populaion growth. We enjoyed the food and Restaurants variety and quality.We decided to stay in Tijuana as a starting point in order to enjoy its closeness to Playas de Tijuana, Rosarito, Puerto Nuevo, and Ensenada that we also visited and we returned to Tijuana every night of our stay until our departure to Los Angeles CA.

I love Tijuana, good food, excellent people,exellent Uber service! DENTISTS, BRACES TOWN! Smile Tijuana- recommending- super prices for adjustments, cleaning, veneers and great service- perfect English!
Scary driving for me, but walking- no problem or Uber everywhere!. SUPER MASSAGES AT SOUSE SPA, good hotels are little too expansive $130 others - noisy or bad area.Just stay close to Rio!

Tijuana is a large city with many varied neighborhoods.
Tijuana is a large city with many varied neighborhoods. You can easily find any number of activities and great restaurants. Traffic is a problem like most large cities. I recommend using Uber or a cab to get around. Driving a private car is a little daunting for anyone not used to the traffic patterns and style.

Rooms were comfy, clean and quiet. I felt very safe.
