Well, i believe lots of visitors already know that Kuching is famous for its Kolo Mee and must-eat Laksa... so delightfully ubiquitous that you dont have to sweat to find one and the tastes and textures are varied that it might take a week to form a decisive opinion as to which is the best of them all.
Kuchingites are friendly and helpful if you need "snapper".
The city is acceptably clean (8/10) and safe (10/10 during our visit as we did not experience or seen anything untoward: but personal safety is your own baby)

Nice city with a lot of attractions in the city itself and the surrounding area. The nicest surprise is the musical fountain show each evening at Darul Hana bridge. We could have stayed an extra night, as there were a few more attractions worth exploring.
We did half day trips to Bako National Park and the Sarawak Cultural Village and strolled through the old city and along the waterfront. Would recommend visiting, as it probably has more to offer than the more popular Kota Kinabalu.

We loved Kuching felt it was a better option than Kira Kinabalu so much to see and you can visit nature parks that require significantly less travel than KK. We highly recommend Kuching the cultural village and cultural centre are a must!

From my view, so far most of Sarawakian are friendly and helpful, Plenty eating places in Kuching and also best to drive on the road because of the space and also the lane on the road is much bigger than in peninsular Malaysia.
I like the parking system at the mall, eco-friendly absolutely good to use to all facilities. For dinner / dine in i would like to recommend for the people to go to Top Spot Food Court for dinner. Plenty seafood you can choose from and the food is absolutely good to try (Malays, Chinese, and Thai Food). Muslim owner also there you can try,
best shopping mall is at Plaza Merdeka, and Aeon Mall Kuching.
Easy access to walk down to Water front, and also plenty eating places around, lots of shops (kek Lapis + Handy Craft / gifts) and amazing view along the river + Sarawak Assembly Building & Jambatan Darul Hana. Nice to go on the cruise as well for relaxing and enjoy the views along the river in Kuching.
perhaps next time i can avoid the traffic jam especially during peak hours.

I was there on family visit after 20 years, I was shocked of the ammount of new hotels built in Kuching, thats a bit sad because it brings down the nostalgy of kuchings old city centre. Waterfront has been improved over the years and is a happening place at night for nice streetfood and a walk.
There are river cruises to be made, and ofcourse bookings to wildlife centres, cultural village, there is lots to do in Kuching.
The room to comfy and cozy. A bit small but just nice for single traveller. It's a walking distance to Kuching main attraction location - the waterfront. There's a lot of activities suitable for family and individuals. It's just a 1-min boat right to the other side of waterfront to shop for Terubok Masin or Kek Lapis Sarawak. Close by to market and souvenir shops. Those who love walking by the river and enjoy the night view of bandar Kuching but prefer a budget stay, Tune Hotel Waterfront is the best choice.
Riverbank Suites is the closest building to all of the iconic Kuching Waterfront sites. It’s right above the boardwalk path with easy access to the river cruises, Golden Anniversary Bridge, & many restaurants. The spacious 2 bedroom apt is modern & comfy with a huge balcony overlooking the Sarawak River, Parliament House & fireworks. The host is very friendly, accommodating & quick to respond to messages. We highly recommend it.
Jane and Sam are warm, engaging and considerate hosts who'll do their very best to ensure that you enjoy your stay with them and in Kuching! The breakfast is great (for a guesthouse) with oats, fruits, fried noodles/rice, eggs and spreads, the guesthouse charming and cosy (albeit a bit rundown), and only 15min walk from the waterfront. It's also a great place to meet other travellers, if you're so inclined:)
Good value for money and strategically located near the waterfront. Old house, probably a 100yo (but renovated!). Small terrasse at the back to have breakfast, kettle and coffee available inside the room. Café downstairs (same name but seems to be different owner). I recommend Indah café down the street for breakfast (vegetarian and vegan option). They also arrange day trips around Kuching!
Location is centre of Waterfront, I really like this hotel for the location within walking distance to any places in Kuching.
Easy check in & staff is super friendly even I check in late.
The room is so quiet even located next to main road and heavy traffic during the night.
Cabinet is so good and a lot of cabinet to put things and stufff.
The refreshment ois good and fully provided.
Very good location as it’s walking distance to waterfront and it’s located in the central of Kuching Town. The staffs here are so friendly and welcoming, very helpful whenever we are in need. The room is really clean and comfortable, price is reasonable👍🏻 my family had a great time staying here.
We love the river view from our room. We love the staffs whom we encountered. They are generous with smile & very helpful. Harbour View Hotel is one of the great locations for staying, near Kuching Waterfront, Plaza Merdeka, food stalls, souvenir shop and all that.❤️
The location is good as it's slightly away from the Waterfront so it's quite quiet. The Waterfront is within easy walking distance. There are plenty of eating places within easy reach.
The staff at the hotel were very friendly and approachable and helpful.
The Borneo hotel is a veteran in Kuching, now several decades in the business and nicely renovated during the pandemic. It's a competent mid-range option with a good central location - the waterfront and various sights are less than 15 minutes’ walk away.
- well located, walking distance to the waterfront, chinatown, cat statue, eateries and shopping malls
- breakfast was okay
- staffs were very helpful
- free parking (either in front of the hotel or inside the mall)
- various choices of movies
Location was pretty good as it was nearby most of the places of interest. It is also a plus point that the hotel is just a step away from the waterfront area and you can view the water fountain performance from the comfort of your hotel room.
The hotel was relatively new, spacious and clean. It is also very centrally located, within walking distance from the waterfront and old town Kuching. Quite an ideal place for a quick stay on business.
A very attractive hotel that is not at the city center, but still convenient enough to go around.
The room was very spacious and aircon in the room works great too.
The bed was very comfortable too.
