We stayed in a Wikkelhause, which are private camping cabins made out of plywood (not sure what they mean by recycled cardboard). Nice enough camping cabin with kitchen and bathroom, but pricey. The bed was comfortable. Private, with good nature view. Parking lot. Better for a week-long camping trip than a stopover. Not a bad location for those cycling the Rhine, though.

The manager was extremely condescending.
The manager was extremely condescending. He acted as if he was doing me a favor by staying in his hotel. The hotel has a gate with a bell yo ring but the bell is not easily found after dark so yes I waited 30 minutes outside ringing the bell and no one opened the gate until a car and the gate opened. The manager blamed my incompetence. The manager refused to give me his name when I checked out but I could identify him by photo. Horrible experience thinking I would stay ocked out of hotel at 10 pm

We used to live in Dordrecht so it always feels like our second home. It's a lovely old own with plenty of unique shops, relaxing cafes, museums and nice walks around the canals. It is on the main train line from Amsterdam, The Hague and Rotterdam so it's easy to do day trips to these places. You can also take the water ferry to Rotterdam and various other places from Dordrecht.

Surprised how unspoilt and picturesque Dordrecht was.
Surprised how unspoilt and picturesque Dordrecht was. It's not set up for tourism, though they are used to people from out of town with all the boats in the marina. Lots of cafes, and a few good places to eat. Close to Kinderdijk with the windmills. We stayed overnight on a stop over, but could of spent a couple of nights there, though probably not much longer than that.

Stayed in Dordrecht for the Dordt in stoom festival and it was wonderful and we will be back if we can ! The old town is pretty and the steam boats provided a great atmosphere in the old port. The only problem we had was that some places - like the tourist office and ticket booths - did not take either visa or mastercard - luckily we manged to get cash out but would have been in trouble over the weekend if this had not worked.

And a great view! Bathroom was large and bathtube was super. Breakfast was super, something for everyone. I especially liked that you can order the omelette the way you like, the selection of smoothies, granolas and availability of fresh ginger and mint for your tea! And we loved the pool and sauna, on 14th floor with great view! We will come back for sure

Parking in the free areas in Dordrecht is horrible, so I would advice to park in front of the hotel and pay a couple of euros per hour. Hotel room is big enough and clean. Coffee facilities and nice bathroom. Room warms up quickly after setting the heater on. Quiet, did not hear the other guests. Check-in is personel-free, so you will get a code to open a key box.

The property is in a pleasant suburb about 10 to 15 minutes by bus from the centre of Rotterdam .
