An enchanting Arabic jewel, Muscat was already an important port in the 1st century. With a strict building code that imposes respect to heights and styles, the city has developed a harmonized and traditional look that makes it irresistible. Don’t miss the traditional Muttrah Souq marketplace, considered one of the best in the region.
The city is actually composed of three towns: Muscat is the walled Old Town where royal palaces are located; Muttrah includes the old and new harbours and the Corniche seafront; and Ruwi is the commercial and diplomatic area. Check out the Muscat hotels map on Booking.com and choose your preferred location!
The city is surrounded by the Western Al Hajar Mountains, and the crystalline waters and sandy beaches of the Arabian Sea. Staying in a Muscat hotel on the beach is a great way to enjoy the beautiful Gulf of Oman views.
The modern and elegant Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque is one of the largest in the world. Don’t miss the twin forts of Al Jalali and Al Mirani, and the Qasr Al Alam Royal Palace.
Before departing to Muscat International Airport, check the deals for hotels, resorts, and B&B’s available on Booking.com!
Muscat is traditional city. You will get a vibe of peacefulness in terms of city, people, beach, malls, and historic places to visit. 3-4 days could be enough to cover the sports. With a visit to the modern side of the area named The Walk is also a nice touch. Please be aware getting taxi is a bit tricky. They have an app named OmanTaxi, if you try to get a cab from your hotel, only luxury option is available which is very expensive for normal travelers, but you can put your location on next building to open the economy options to ride for a fair price.

Muscat is a nice and beautiful city.
Muscat is a nice and beautiful city. Souq Matrah is a must to visit. You need a car to get around the city, so best option is to rent a car. However, the food is expensive and overpriced at restaurants in the beach resorts areas like Al-Moge area or near hotels like InterContinental hotel and resort area, etc.

Muscat is a Jewel of Middle East but as an independent Solo traveler who enjoys walking and use public transports , I tend to struggle. The infrastructure is just not there comparing to Dubai where one has an option to use the Metro from A to B.
Oman is spread out even from Muttrah to City you need a Taxi. Walking from Ghubra which is only a distant away from Millenium Apt, you would struggle to find a continuous pavement to walk on. So come on Oman work towards Eco Friendly.
Nizwa is always my favourite place❤️
Try street food “mishkaki” bbq meat at Ghubra or Just pass AlMouj complex.
Avoid May, June July August (hottest season) unless you are travelling to Salalah which is cooler season.

Muscat is an amazing place to stay.
Muscat is an amazing place to stay. Very calm people very relaxing place.. Theres so much peace in there. I love the behaviour of the people itself. Even if you are in a public places you cant hear any loud noises. I am very impressed. Its very good for my mental health. Very friendly locals. I feel completely safe.
the location offers an exceptional mounting view with secluded private beach “hugged” by cliffs by both end sides of the sandy stretch. it simply this dramatic natural beach enclosure its a mini representation of Oman’s incredible nature. the hotel is close by the Port “Marina Bandar Al Rowdha” from where you can take a boat for dolphin observation and snorkeling.
20 minutes drive from Muscat Cornish and Sultane Palace. as well as National Museum and cultural down town district.
I recently stayed at the Wyndham Garden in Al Khuwair, Muscat, and it was an absolutely wonderful experience! The hotel is exceptionally clean and well-maintained, offering all the comforts and amenities one could ask for. What made my stay even more enjoyable was the fair pricing, which provided great value for the high quality of service and accommodation. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a top-notch hotel experience in Muscat!
The most amazing part apart this hotel is the selection of stuf; the chef Abdulhamid is the 👌 best , dinner was just amazing,he came to our table check if everything was fine, including Rose who is professional and consistent.Special thanks.to amjid a nice Omani guy with an amazing photography talent. My stay was just amazing and everything was perfect. I will surely come back there because you guys make me love Oman 🇴🇲 more.
We had a great stay in the Fort Guesthouse. The Suite was neat and clean having Omani style beautiful interior and with the required facilities available including kitchen appliances and cutlery. Hotel Manager Mubarak and his wife were very warm and welcoming. There is nice breakfast available at very reasonable price. Corniche and muttrah area is at walkable distance from the property. Highly recommended
We stayed 1 night before starting our trip in Oman (camping). Hotel is located near a huge shopping mall (Lulu market) which is convenient in our case as we had to complete our camping cheklist. But keep in mind that it is little bit remote from the city center.
The hotel is very well maintained. Staff very efficient and kids friendly
Copious breakfeast
Rooftop bar and swimming pool
This place was a good find. Amazing level of comfort, furnishing was amazing. Bed was great. Staff was very friendly. I think given the price, it was the best place to be in oman. Infact, if you are not fussed about the luxury which 5 star hotel offer, this is 5 star without the amenities. Must stay. Whenever I go to muscat, i will stay here.
Great hotel!
Clean and modern, close to the airport and attractions. Fresh bedding and furniture. Good breakfast and delicious coffee! Very friendly staff, I express my personal gratitude to Islam, he helped me with check-in, suggested the best room, and gave a lot of advice. I had amazing impressions from Oman.
Thank you very much!
We liked the functionality of the hotel in terms it was great location from where to launch and depart from during our 8 day tour of Oman,. All traveler needs are in walking distance from the hotel. Hire cars , money exchange, local food , maps etc.
Its proximity to the airport and Grand Mosque are a bonus
The hotel building is amazing and quite beautiful especially the restaurant and the view is magnificent. The room and the bathroom were big enough and clean. The food at the seafood restaurant very tasty.
The staff is friendly. The location is near the airport and so little far from the city
Of the 4 hotels in my Oman visit this was the best! The room was large and had a wide array of additional touches and facilities making for a great stay. The location was brilliant and coffee shops at the door step and easy access to a main road.
Breakfast was excellent
Room was luxurious
Restaurant was excellent although a bit expensive
Facilities was excellent
Reception, particular Usman, was very helpful and professional.
Location(near airport and marina) and view was the best!
I stay at this hotel every time I travel to Oman. It is my favourite choice in this city. In addition, I communicate with the hotel for early check-in, or late check-out. The hotel makes the room available as soon as possible.
We stayed here on our final night in Oman as it's close to the airport.
Our room was huge and very well equipped. Breakfast was a very extensive buffet, and one of the best we had. Highly recommended.
