    There are so many better places in S/E Asia to go for a nice time at the beach. Mactan is not one of them. I went for the IronMan and would never go for vacation there. Very poor availability of night life, sea and beach are mediocre.

    We went to Mactan for a wedding and caught a 'Grab' taxi...

    We went to Mactan for a wedding and caught a 'Grab' taxi from the airport to the accommodation for about A$15. We had a room with a view to the sea, but could also see the housing of the locals, which contrasted to the fancy hotels - so sad to see the living conditions of locals. The area where we stayed was rather quiet and was safe for walking without too much traffic.

    Great beaches on Mactan Island.

    Great beaches on Mactan Island. Also some good nearby attractions like Lapu-Lapu statue, Mactown Newtown, 10,000 Roses Cafe. You will also find more sites in Cebu city like Fort San Pedro, Magellan's Cross, Sto. Nino Church, Temple of Leah, Sirao Flower Garden, Little Kyoto, and Tops Overlook.

    Very reasonable prices for taxis and other transport to get around. Lovely cool shopping malls. Food is very, very good. The staff everywhere are lovely - exceptionally friendly without being intrusive.

    I have stayed at this hotel many times and have always been made welcome by the staff. It’s almost just like going to see friends. I am amazed just how many of the staff remember me. Of course being situated right next to the airport is a huge plus. I am already looking forward to seeing my friends again in the future

    Mactan is a busy city. Very busy to commute, crowded, noisy.

    Mactan is a busy city. Very busy to commute, crowded, noisy. Give yourself plenty of time to get around. Tuktuk will take a long time to go far. Taxi is your best option for longer commutes. It is a central location to most tourist locations. But, if you want to go whale shark swimming, canyoneering, sardine snorkeling, I recommend staying in Mactan, close to the airport, for one night, then travel to other locations for the day. Hotel hopping is the best way to make the most out of your time in each location, plus rest up for the next journey.

    Solea Mactan is a hotel with many swimming pools and a water theme park - a happy place for family get-away and business travelers to CEBU Light Industrial Park. Easy access to the beach with a well cordoned large swimming area in the calm sea. It is about 15km (or 35-40 mins) from the International Airport and 7km (25-30 mins) from the Industrial Park. Rooms are with comfortable size and well-pressured water in bath. Good varieties of food for breakfast.

    The feeling of being in a truly luxurious hotel in the middle of tropical island. It's calm, quiet - you can really rest there. Despite this, the hotel is located just 30 minutes by taxi from the airport, shopping malls, restaurants and all the attractions offered in Mactan. Very nice beach bar with sea view. Bottle of Australian red wine as a welcome gift. The stuff is nice and helpful. Obvious attention to details by management of the resort.

Good spot for a couple of days when headed into Cebu to acclimatise . Airport 10 mins away 2-300 peso . Don’t get ripped off by taxi guys .. on tried to hit me up for 4k .. use GRAB to get real costs
