the receptionist was really nice, funny and willing to help! even though it was a 20-people dorm, it was kinda private because of those flexible walls. Bed was comfortable! Would recommend

The hosts were accommodating. We arrived quite late due to delayed flights and transport. However, the hosts waited for us until 3am to give us the keys. Really wonderful service. The amenities were all available and well maintained. We especially loved the pool and barbecue area for the whole family. I truly recommend visiting Avelie Casa Do Monte for an unforgettable break with your loved ones. I’ll be visiting again in no time.

A great place to stay, tastefully decorated and comfortable to stay in.
I liked meeting Lalo who was there when I arrived at the property and who put a lot of effort in making me feel welcome and in explaining how everything worked in and around the property.

Caminha, a fortified border town located at the mouth of the river Minho, where several battles were fought between Portugal and Spain, now has much more friendly relations with its neighbor , it is a nice place to stay a few days to discover the area, unfortunately the ferry that connects the two banks of the river, is out of service.

I have been taking holidays in Caminha for over 30 years so it is one of my favourite spots. The town is small and everything is in walking distance, packed with enough restaurant choices to keep you satisfied and very well fed. Around it there's plenty interesting things to see and places to visit, also more restaurants with more excellent food to enjoy. The proximity with Spain is also a bonus.

Great little town with a lots of culture and tradition.
Great little town with a lots of culture and tradition. As a pilgrim, there were not so many places to stay, but I met some lovely people there. I loved walking along the river Minho, beautiful landscape, fascinating architecture. It's a quiet town that is located on the riverbank of Rio Minho and you can cross the river by ferry to Spain.

CAMINHA is a very attractive little town especially the old centre which has a lovely bustling square !
Many decent reasonably priced restaurants.
There are lovely clean beaches & super views across the River Minho to Spain !
Ideally located for walking on the beautiful unspoilt Serra da Arga or along the coastline.
Easy to nip across to Spain on the cheap ferry.
Good train service to other interesting places.
We just stopped for a couple of nights, but we definitely would have stayed longer. The house is really lovely with a beautiful view on the Minho River and a wonderful garden with pool.Kevin and Nadine are super hosts! They are always there to help to make you feel at home and they also preparare a great breakfast in the terrace using fresh food from their garden.
The room is not so big, but the patio and the garden/pool outside are enough to completely charge batteries and relax. Free parking and clean spaces in all the house
Magnificent views over the river Mino and Spain. From the room you could see the sun set behind the hill. The rooms are like individual bungalows with panoramic windows floor to ceiling. Very quiet place ideal for good sleep and relaxation. As the location of the hotel is high up the hill the air is very clean. Easy walk down to the village of Seixas.
Friendly woman welcome from Patricia. SHE IS INVESTING in more bathrooms and April 24 I found three men hard at work
IT IS between road and railroad but both went Quiet at 10pm despite my earlier fears. Kitchen available cafe and restaurant within 4 minute walk. Very close to Camino. BEAUTIFUL view from spacious terrace
The location was perfect, right next to the river with the old water mill still running. The room was great and the bathroom was beautiful. Plenty of garden space to relax in The staff were super friendly and made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. Look forward to staying again in the future!
The apartment is beautiful, bright, spacious, and inviting! It is along the Camino route, a block from the water, and close to cafes, bars, and restaurants. The owners are warm, welcoming, very responsive, and kind! The bedrooms are beautiful and the dining / living room spacious and comfy.
Well-preserved outdoor space, comfortable and spacious place, great breakfast and staff.
In terms of location, it is also super close to many lovely places to visit.
Outdoor and indoor swimming pools are also very good, especially for families with kids!
Clean, staff were helpful, kitchen facilities for cooking after a day on the Camiño, had newspapers for driving our shoes after a long wet day on the Camiño, and the hostel arranges taxis to the boats that take you across the inlet to Spain the next day.
The staff Marcelo Silva, Lara Ferreira, Maria Dantas, Bruna Fernandes were all very polite and accommodating. We had invited our friends over for dinner at the hotel and they also loved the food. The spa facilities are ideal to use in overcast weather.
Beauty and spacious. Also, there was a need to use the bathroom drying racks and the property owner made sure that the racks where turned on through the night. Furthermore, thoughtful appointments where in the kitchen as a welcome treat.
I think the general design of the place as well as the host and people working there created an amazing warm atmosphere, which makes me want to come back there. It was one of the nicest stays during my camino.
The rooms were nice and location at the market place lovely.
Overall a better location. The restaurant had a nice atmosphere. So did the wine cellar.
However the hotel saw better says in the past.
