Apart from the citadel (which is superb) there ain't much to do in Alba Iulia. There are several restaurants with high quality food, some quiet streets nearby but that is pretty much all. There is a museum, which was closed when we tried to go, but not a problem for us, did not wanted to see it badly. Great places to eat, at an acceptable price. Inside the Alba Carolina fortress, museums can be visited, concerts are held and festivals take place periodically. Alba Iulia's walled city was a surprising cluster of food stands and tourist trinket kiosks and rides for children. It was loud and busy.
