Staff was friendly and helpful throughout my entire stay. The room was very spacious and clean. Bed was very comfortable. The breakfast buffet was great every morning. Pool was always clean and lots of seating around it. Location was great for walking to everything in the Old City and to the silver temple just outside the walls.

The room is very clean and well maintained. Our room is on the top floor at a corner. Therefore it is very quiet at night and we can see the roof of temple outside the patio. The room has a small shelf that you can hang on the wet cloth at the patio. This is very useful during the summer. The staffs here are all very polite and friendly. The hotel also provides complimentary airport pick up and drop off services which is very helpful.

Surrounded by Thailand’s highest mountains, Chiang Mai is the beloved, idyllic and somewhat mystical capital of the North. With more than 300 temples, it's considered one of the most important cultural centers in the country.
Despite being Thailand's fifth-largest city, Chiang Mai still has a relaxed and laid-back feel. Modernity, trendy shops and boutique hotels haven’t altered much of its picturesque and peaceful atmosphere.
This reputation is partly due to its proximity to lush green areas, mountains like Doi Suthep, and its panoramic Wat Phrathat Doi Suthep temple. The Doi Inthanon National Park is 37 miles away with Thailand’s highest mountain.
Hotels in Chiang Mai’s old city center are a popular choice, with picturesque scenery featuring its moat and older temples. Chiang Mai hotels can also be found around the Chang Klhan Rd, where the famous Night Bazaar takes place.
The city’s nightlife runs along the Loi Kroh Rd, while Ratchadamneon Road hosts the main Sunday night pedestrian market. Don’t forget to buy an umbrella from Bo Sang and eat a bowl of kao soi.
Whether you arrive at Chiang Mai International Airport or come by land from Bangkok, don’t miss "The Rose of the North" deals on Booking.com!
Beautiful place. So easy to get around in a tuk tuk or taxi.
Beautiful place. So easy to get around in a tuk tuk or taxi. Drivers happy to be hired for the day, very cheap. Beautioful temples and great street food. Plenty of attractions both in the town and in the surrounding areas. Mrkets were great places to eat out. So many experiences we just couldn't fit into 4 days.

Chiang Mai is my favourite asian city, lively and if you want you find also chilling spots. And the people are really friendly, not as if you are their atm, just honest as if you are a close friend. I love to return asap <3 Also the area around Chiang Mai with hot springs and caves and beautiful nature with streets made to be explored by bike or motorcycle is awesome and wonderful. Not to forget to mention the delicious street food: Yummy as yummy can be. When you visit some of the many temples pls be respectful - and you will be fascinated anyhow.

I think it might be a great location for younger travelers and rich old people. The city has nothing but touristic activities, tours, parties, fancy restaurants, and fancy massage places. I got bored of seeing touristic activities.

Love Chiang Mail and would go back again.
Love Chiang Mail and would go back again. However, the hot weather was uncomfortable. The traffic was bad and we were stuck for more than an hour.
We hired a van driver through Get Your Guide and highly recommend it, provided you do some homework and know what and where to visit.

Chiang Mai was so chill that I almost forgot my cell phone. I could enjoy the city without using my phone which just like I had left every bad memory behind in my own country and enjoyed the present of the atmosphere of the City. I then understood why my co-worker visit Chiang Mai every single year. Besides, the food was so affordable and extremely delicious. We are planning to go to Chiang Mai soon with my friend again shortly.

Chiang- Mai has changed over the years; several places were closed during the pandemic but never reopened. The city is now more international, with a growing number of Chinese tourists and residents. Northern culture and local warm hospitality still remain.
LARGE ROOMS, spotlessly clean, quiet neighborhood.
Perfect Location near night bazaar, good restaurants. 10 Minutes
walk to the old town.
Excellent, delicious breakfast. Choice of Thai and Western cuisine.
Eggs to order and excellent coffee.
But most of all I liked the friendly and helpful staff,
led by the extraordinary owner NIM, who runs an outstanding hotel.
She makes everything happen in a friendly, professional manner.
I give her and this wonderful hotel 11 out of 10, if I could!
EXCELLENT VALUE FOR MONEY!
The hotel offers great value for money. It is in a good location in the Old City; a convenience store (7-eleven) and pharmacy (Boots) are close by. The room we stayed in (villa 5) is spacious. The outside sitting area feels bigger than what is shown in the hotel photos. The staff, in particular the lady at the front desk, are so friendly and helpful. They gave us good tips (such as where we may find the best Khao Soi in the area) and went our their way to make our stay enjoyable. They are such wonderful people……
What an amazing hotel, I could write all day after staying here for over a week. Empress is beautifully designed, immaculately maintained and with a lovely staff. The breakfast is solid with some American and Asian choices to satisfy everyone. The restaurant has limited choices but the food is good for a hotel.
There is a lot of shopping and eating around the hotel but it's a taxi ride to visit the old city. It's definitely a pricier place for Chiang Mai but the luxury is worth it.
Olivier Boutique is by far my favorite hotel in Chiang Mai. The way the hotel has been decorated is simply amazing. The owner is such a lovely lady with so much passion for the hotel and to ensure your stay is perfect. It is easily understood why a lot of her guests are repeat customers for many years. The husband is French and runs a french restaurant which is simply amazing, ridiculously cheap and 5-star quality. This hotel is simply the best value hotel in Chiang Mai by far.
The staff were so friendly, welcoming and helpful. Even though we have checked out they invited us back to make Krathong for the festival at the hotel. The location was great - very central in the old city. The night market was 2 minutes away and there are plenty of restaurants in walking distance. Laundry service was great. Breakfast was included. Beds very comfortable and tea and coffee, water available. But the best thing was the staff - so helpful and friendly.
Staying in this hotel complemented our stay in Chiang Mai. The hotel and room are lovely decorated in traditional stile. Everything was soo clean and well maintained. The bed was comfortable, the breakfast had both Thai and western food options. They also made espresso and cappuccino in the morning. The staff were so kind and polite. Best of all LOCATION, LOCATION because the hotel is in the middle of the old town and walking distance to everything.
Quiet hotel in a good location with very friendly staff and a lovely breakfast included in the price.
Hotel is located within the walls of the Old Town and is about 25 minutes walk to the old city gates. Good choice of bars, restaurants and shops within easy walking distance too....particularly worth noting that SP Chicken is located next door to the hotel - I recommend trying this for lunch.
Everything was wonderful! 5 starts for the value. Sabuy Chiang Mai a comfortable, clean, quiet, great energy boutique hotel to rest and recharge. Shared space with everything you could want. On a beautiful street in SE old city with the Sunday market just down the street. The owner is one of the sweetest men i have ever met and is right onsite for your every need. You will love it.
The Vieng Mantra is a cute boutique hotel in the old city. The location is the best, close to the Sunday Walking Street and to PhaeTae Gate. I've stayed here on two trips now and plan to again the next time I travel to Chiang Mai. I was surprised at how well maintained it was after closure from the pandemic. The staff are very helpful and friendly. The price is very good value.
Clean, the pool was good to use. The day we left early to the elephant sanctuary they packed a little breakfast for us on request. All the main temples in the old town are a 10min walk. There are also restaurants and bars close by, yet the hotel is not loud at all. I would recommend if you want to stay in the old city.
Lovely little boutique hotel just outside of the Old City of Chiangmai. Location is cracking and the little pool was a nice bonus, as were the gym facilities. Kind and helpful staff, plus a terrific breakfast which was the best that my fiance and I had had in Thailand.
Fabulous location, lovely setting, comfortable rooms, just the most lovely staff, so helpful, friendly and polite. We used the free bikes and enjoyed cycling round the old city, and even out to the Ping river- after a delicious breakfast at the hotel, of course!
Best hotel I've stayed in Thailand by far, easily beating 5-star hotels. New spacious room, super clean, bed & pillows extremely comfy, nice minibar, great location to explore Chiang Mai, great AC, friendly staff, netflix in the rooms ... ticks all the boxes.
Very sweet staff and comfortable beds. We liked being a bit away from the tourist crowds in the old city and wondering the small side streets. The Chinese restaurant close to the hotel was one of the best meals we had in Chiang Mai- bonus!
Best place in Chiang Mai. The pool is excellent! The staff is so sweet. The rooms are very well lit, clean, and honestly the best. I extended my stay here in Chiang Mai because this hotel was so great and in a perfect location.
Great hotel for the price, great location from old town, across from north east corner of old city. Lots of restaurants walking distance. Great staff. Old hotel well maintained. 5 star in its haydays loved jacuzzi.
The hotel is located in a quiet and pleasant area of the old city of Chiang May.
Breakfast was included in a very nice overnight price.
Very nice staff who were always helpful with any question.
The staff is absolutely amazing at level of the best 5 star hotels. The building is new, well designed both from an aesthetic and an organizational point of view. Breakfast is excellent!
