Really comfortable beds, nice strong hot shower, fast WIFI, good lighting in room and best location! Near the subway station , family mart is just across, and beside a really nice bar (Recall) and cafes. 5 min walking distance to the night market. Really good value breakfast buffet for 99NT$ with noodles, rice, bread and dumplings. Will highly recommend!

This city is a hidden gem that hardly any Americans know about. We saw almost no Westerners even though it's a big city. Lot of great sculpture, art, great restaurants, live music, and right on the ocean. Fo Guang Shan monastery and Buddhist site is about 40 minutes by car and fantastic. Lotus lake is fun, especially if you have kids. Lots of colorful, interesting temples. Qijin island is worth a trip since it's a 15 minute walk to the ferry and then 10 minutes on the ferry to the island.

Fantastic city undiscovered by Westerners.
Fantastic city undiscovered by Westerners. Art district is modern, fun and lively with lots of great art, restaurants, shops and even a movie theatre. Fo Guang Shan Buddhist site and museum is about a 30 minute drive out of town and has some very impressive pieces. Lotus Lake was interesting. Qijin Island was worth a visit--about a 20 minute walk then a 10 minute ferry ride.

SImple city , friendly, culvert system not good, too many motor cycles and it is dangerous for a small family riding on one bike, small kid in front, a parent driving, with older child sitting behind.

Hotel was very clean and well kept throughout!
Hotel was very clean and well kept throughout!
Breakfast on site was very convenient and a great value.
Staff were very attentive and responded to requests very quickly!
The hotel was close to shopping and entertainment!
Transportation was easy as the train station entrance was only a few blocks from the front door of the hotel!
I would definitely recommend staying here to friends and family traveling in the area.
- amazing view of the city from the double bed! 10th floor
- double bed in 10 bed dorm was so comfy with such comfy bedding
- great location centrally, near train station, right by metro on red line, really central and easy to get around
- free juice in the hostel!
- nice touches in the bathroom including toiletries and hair bands and cotton pads
- best hostel that we have stayed in in Taiwan!
- lockers in the dorm for valuables
- enough space in the dorm (we only had 1 other person in there in the 10 bed dorm in March)
Very spacious and clean. Staff is very nice. This hotel provides free clothes wash. You only need NT$20 for dryer with 30 min. We found this is very useful for us since it is very humid and hot here in Taiwan during summer time. They also provide free beverages and cookies/biscuits in the afternoon and early evening on 3rd floor. You can enjoy these while waiting for your laundry. Definitely recommend this hotel.
The Kaohsiung Grand Hotel was just like how I saw in the pictures and the room we got was beautiful too. The hotel seemed mostly empty as we hardly ever bumped into other people in the lobby or halls. We could see a nice sunset and night lights from our city-view room, with nobody else out on their balconies (maybe because everybody stayed on the lake view side?)
The location is very nice, and the department store is adjacent to the hotel, so if you want to go shopping, it is within proximity.
There is a local night market within walking distance for Taiwanese food, but the big night market near the Love River will need taxi to get there. The staff is very knowledgeable about the location and what to do around.
The hotel is right by the main subway station in Kaohsiung, which was super convenient for us. The check-in and check-out times are reasonable. The room was small but cozy and had everything we needed, like towels, shower gel, shampoo, a hair dryer, and air conditioning. The bed was really comfy. Just remember, the reception is on the 10th floor.
Great location. Just 3 mins walk from Kaohsiung Main Station. Also, you can shop to your heart’s delight at wholesale prices at Houyi Shopping District just next to the hotel. Shops open at 10am. Can take beautiful pictures under the canopy of umbrellas above the street too. The pillows are good too.
Overall my 3rd visit and probably not last one, I really feel comfortable in this hotel whenever I need to visit Kaohsiung .
Special mention to the breakfast buffet which is again self-service, great step forward! Being served by staff was not that exciting...
The room is very spacey. The swimming pool and sauna is excellent and the staffs are well trained with warm greeting . We had lunch at the hotel Michelin 1 star restaurant Ukai-tei and enjoyed a lot. Definitely will stay again when visit Kaohsiung next time.
Really neat and nice hotel right in the city centre of Kaohsiung. The personel is able to speak English as she helped us with a lot! Besides, there is a really cool market just one block away. Regarding the price it is a very convenient option to stay in!
The hotel was walking distance to the Kaohsiung Main Station. It was value for money as I had a room with a king size bed which was very comfortable. The bathroom was spotlessly clean. There was daily housekeeping. I really enjoyed my 4 night stay here!
Work on the Kaohsiung Railway station means that there is a fair walk from the hotel to the station entrance. When that temporary fencing comes down this may improve. Probably a younger more active person would not have noticed this.
Very spacious rooms, great location near night market . Parking nearby was expensive but convenient . Hotel is on one floor of a big apartment building, good for short business travel.
The location of the hotel is very good. For the price paid, it's an excellent choice in Kaohsiung. The bath-tub is excellent; seldom see this facility in this price range.
I stay at this Hotel often when I travel to Kaoshung. Simple and yet clean and friendly staff. Good location for what I have to do in the city and easy parking car.
