This hotel is located at one of the same alleys in Ximending, hence it is super close to the popular streets (with lots of delicacies) yet left undisturbed. Walking to nearest metro will take about 5-8 mins walk, there are a couple of bus stations nearby too. Room is clean, spacious (enough to fit two 28 inches luggage with extra walking space) & comfy. Capital of the Republic of China (commonly known as Taiwan), huge Taipei is surrounded by mountains. Taipei 101, once the world’s tallest building, dominates its skyline from Xinyi, an area known for the most active nightlife.
At Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall the national flag is raised every morning and the guard changed every hour. Less known for tourists is National Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall, containing a tall bronze statue of the country’s founding father.
Taipei has tons of museums, but the best are Shung Ye Museum of Formosan Aborigines and the National Palace Museum – one of world’s largest collections of Chinese artifacts. Even more numerous are the temples dedicated to Buddhist, Taoist and Chinese folk religions. Xinsheng South Road is nicknamed "Road to Heaven" for its sheer number, but most famous is Longshan Temple in Wanhua, the oldest district.
Taipei shopping is fantastic and includes Core Pacific Living Mall, supposedly Asia’s largest. The Ximending area has lots of shops (and karaoke), while the Shilin Night Market should not be missed. For a break from the bustle head to central Daan Forest Park, the botanical gardens with its lotus ponds,or Yangmingshan National Park, known for hot spring baths and spring cherry blossom.
Whether you fly into Songshan or Taiwan Taoyuan Airport, the well connected public transportation system can take you to any Taipei hotel on Booking.com.
The city of Taipei left a good impression on me. The people were disciplined. In the train stations, people queued up to enter and exit. I did not see anyone cut the line. The trains were efficient too: departed and arrived as scheduled.
On the street, the locals obeyed the pedestrian rules. I did not experience any traffic whatsoever.
On our last night there, we decided to walk around Daan Park. We noticed the locals were out. For awhile we thought what's going on. Then, we realized they were out because they were waiting for their trash to be collected.
Even though English was not widely spoken, it was not a problem. They still tried to help.
The food was great and very affordable too.
I will visit again for sure.

Taipei information centers no longer have paper maps and everything is now online. This is great, but not if you are going to a remote spot. Taipei is so safe that you can go to 7-11 at 3 am in your pajamas and slippers.

Taipei is awesome.
Taipei is awesome. Had dinner at A Joy in the 101, amongst other places. Also at Shilin night market - finally had the stinky tofu :) It was my 7th stay in Taipei, I'm always happy to be there. People are generally kind and polite, the MRT is fantastic. There's a lot to see and do, but as I was there for work, I only had limited time for that.

We were at first overwhelmed by the size of Taipei but quickly got used to the super efficient MRT system which is very easy to use and there are posters up at every station showing the exits and where exactly you are in relation to them.
We found the city a strange mix of old crumbling buildings that looked like they were about to fall down and brand new flashy skyscrapers and shopping malls. Even though the old buildings looked ugly when you looked up, strangely, at eye level they were sometimes quite charming with cute cafes, small bars and restaurants at least this was the case in Zhongshan district where we stayed.
There were so many little places that we wanted to visit, but of course we couldn’t get around them all. Ah well, there’s always next time. We would definitely return to Taipei and next time go further afield into the Tiawanese countryside, perhaps spend a couple of weeks traveling around the island.
We ate exclusively at local restaurants recommended by the lovely staff at our hotel. They were very good and cheap too, also ate at the night markets which were even cheaper.
The room was very spacious and it’s one of the most comfortable beds I’ve ever slept in at a hotel. I’m very picky about my pillows because I have neck issues and these did wonders! The hotel’s air filtration system is amazing because it always smelled so nice. The dinner buffet at Palette was very impressive. From scallops to fresh sashimi and everything in between. The breakfast buffet wasn’t as impressive though. I expected ‘more’ - something more comparable to the dinner buffet. Nonetheless, the entire experience was grand.
I mistakenly assumed I could order breakfast but it turned out there is not a restaurant, only a food truck. This symbolizes the very creative environment in the hotel - when you enter the hotel lobby, you really feel like you have entered a theme park. The room was large and comfortable, and the hotel is situated next to the Taipei Main Station from where you have access to all main transportations - Airport MRT, high speed trains, regular trans and metro.
The location across from Daan Park was a delight. Also the area surrounding hotel is upscale and filled with places to eat and show. I LOVED Dreamer Cafe and a lovely Korean restaurant around the corner. The staff were so helpful in directing me to get what I needed and call me taxi as needed. It was wonderfully clean and well designed and furnished. I would definitely stay here again and this was one of three hotels in Taipei I stayed at on this trip
Overall a nice stay, quaint hotel that has value for money. Have snacks, coffee, soda and juice. Breakfast is decent, well-balanced.
It is a short walk to the peace park and about 14 minutes walk to Ximending. 90 NTD taxi ride to Taipei main station. Kid-friendly. Has foosball for all ages. The KTV and game room are for reservation at 2888 NTD I think.
The hotel room is across Daan forest park with the window view is the best experience to have during our stay and its location is excellent at the heart of Taipei city, which connects to most of the places within 25 minutes of distance.
The room's cleanliness and facility are above our expectations. The staff is very courteous and helpful.
Amazing staff! Conveniently located in the city centre close to Taipei Main Station. Wouldn’t call this place a hostel since they have Japanese toilets, and more of a hotel vibe. Got to try both dorm rooms and private rooms, which were very clean and cozy. Wouldn’t recommend any other place to stay in while in Taipei! This place is perfection!
The Mitsui Garden is one of my favourite hotels in Taipei: rooms are spacious and comfortable, it has an onsen on the rooftop, staff is lovely, it's located literally on a good metro station and the breakfast is everything I hope from a great Japanese hotel.
It was my second stay and I plan on returning there for my future trips to Taipei.
I like the location and parking. As we need the parking, so we have no choice to stay at the hotel a little bit far from the main road that make this hotel is quiet and good for sleeping. It is unexpected that the location is at the center you can easily go to Shilin market or go to the Zhongshan road for good and cheap food.
One of the few possibilties in Taipei to have a room with a balcony. The hotel feels like home, it's a wonderful place to calm down after a buzy day in the city. The rooftop of the hotel is great. Massage chairs are a nice extra. The breakfast was wonderful, a wide variety of choice for anyone's taste.
Grandiose hotel with spacious room and bathroom (both shower and bath) and a Japanese toilet, water fountain in front of the elevators and great staff. At a walking distance of metro stations, a convenience store nearby (seven eleven). The view from the 11th floor is quite amazing.
Great location near Taipei 101 for a great price. It is a budget hotel so no lobby, no swimming pool and no complimentary breakfast. These were not important to us since we were sight seeing and only needed a clean and quiet place for the night. Near metro.
This hotel is so so comfortable and clean. It is walkable to 101, has laundry, and has great service. The lady who worked at the breakfast restaurant was so friendly and kind. She even offered her home made tea to me.
Very comfortable hotel, ideally located near Daan Park, perfect to visit Taipéi. The room, bed and bathroom (with hot tub) were very comfortable. A special mention to the kindness and flexibility of all the team.
The location of the hotel is super nice, as well as the stuff - super friendly, supporting and very kind. Such a good place to stay in Taipei and I will definitely stay again in this hotel when I come back.
Great location, very near to Taipei main station, 3 minutes walking distance from Z2 exit. Although the room is small but they look clean and bright. Hotel staff that helped us checked in is amiable.
The hotel is very well located to explore Taipei. It is also close to the Main Station so it has easy access to the airport.
Staff is friendly and helpful.
Room is comfortable. Toilet is great.
Excellent location. Close to National Museum, Peace Park, and NTU station, just one stop from Taipei Main Station. It's like a dormitory-style capsule hotel. Staff were very friendly.
