Clean place. Nice aesthetic. Rustic and modern; they definitely try to echo Bass Pro’s rustic nature with a modern twist. The bed was firm, but not overly uncomfortable. It was nice that all the staff we encountered spoke English as a first language!

The restaurants in Independence are over rated via recommendations of those who live there in terms of quality and taste of food. Yet, the beautiful, quiet, fun, most interesting place with the most delicious breakfast is close to all of our favorite venues. The owner Kim and along with staff members Robin, Deb, Sheila, the handy Man are all very welcoming making us and other guest feel right at home. An Absolutely Amazing experience however, we would recommend finding restaurants elsewhere in the metro area.

It's a nice place to stay at, the facility was clean and everything
was in good working order. The check in staff was friendly and professional. But I did experience a minor service issue with the third shift attendant. I had book for four guest and made a request for 2 more wash clothes, she gave me a hard time about it she said that she was following corporate policy, so I asked for the corporate information. After that exchange she gave my daughter the towels as I had requested.

Independence yes historic and once probably a beautiful town. But now sadly it's been over turned by crooked greedy police breaking and going against our constitutional rights. Full of playcaters and sideways lawmakers

Quaint, friendly town.
Quaint, friendly town. Very peaceful and we could walk around Independence Square without fear. A lot of history and shops and restaurants. But, we found that so much around the square is closed on Sunday and Monday’s. Especially restaurants. I think we found only 2 which was Square Pizza (which was very good) and a barbecue place that we didn’t eat at. There is Harry S. Truman history everywhere as well as the Santa Fe and Oregon trail history. The Vaile Mansion and Bingham-Waggoner Estate should be a must see. Also, the 1859 Jail Museum and the Chicago &Alton Depot next to the Frontier Museum. We were here for a weekend get away and stayed at a wonderful B&B called Silver Heart Inn & Cottages. The weather was beautiful and we enjoyed the relaxed , friendly atmosphere. We will come back!

This hotel was disappointing, especially for the price we paid. It was not at all as described on the website. The room was run down and dirty. The front door would not close completely. The linens had cigarette burns on them. No fridge or microwave. The bathroom was small and dirty, no towels available. Only small hand towels. The only good thing about the property was the location.

Independence is a buzzing little area on the east side of the city. Easily navigated if you stay along i70. Plenty of restaurants, shopping, and interesting things to do. The historic downtown area is cool too.
During our stay at the Stoney Creek Hotel , we really enjoyed several aspects of the hotel. Firstly, the hotel was very clean. Secondly, the hotel had a unique character and ambiance, which added to our overall experience. Additionally, we loved the delicious breakfast, and the fact that we could enjoy a lovely view of the nearby lake while we ate. Overall, we had a fantastic stay and would highly recommend the Stoney Creek Hotel to anyone visiting the area.
adorable decorated rooms, clean as can be, Uber transportation was awesome from location. typical free breakfast, I travel to KC for footaball games at least 6 times a season, the hotel we used to stay at is charging outrageous prices, and requiring 2 day stay, that hotel is filthy, air works and can’t turn off or doesn’t work at all, one room they tried to put us in was a smoking Roos horrible we had to move! check Higher Grounds 5 stars!!
The whole experience was smooth, professional, clean, and easy going. It's in a great and safe location. There is everything you want close by. It is set up for everything you need. The beds were comfortable. One is firmer and one is softer. I even saw a pack and play. There is literally EVERYTHING you have in a home. It was nice and better than a hotel stay. They were responsive with questions. Thank you!
The location was real good. Close to interstate with other quality hotels & restaurants.
The room suite was what expected and appeared pretty clean. Good and comfortable bed. Soap, Shampoo, Conditioner storage container nearly fell off the wall while I was taking my shower.
Loved the cottage with separate living, dining, kitchen, and bedroom. Loved the fireplace, the breakfast was good and the staff was excellent. Very helpful and answered all our questions and gave us advice of other places nearby.
Great hotel for the price it was clean and quiet. Rented a room for a Royals game, Booked the room ahead of time. Arrived had no issues. Room was clean, Beds & Pillows were good. Definitely would reuse in the future again.
There was a welcoming and safe feel to this hotel as the staff were friendly and helpful. The location was easily accessible and quiet. There was a Starbucks within walking distance for my morning coffee.
Room was clean but in need of updates.. did not look like the website. Would not stay again when there are other hotels in the same area for the same price
Worst place ever- crack heads wondering the halls, disgusting building and the room was horrific- cobwebs, bugs. Grime and filth on bed chairs tables etc
