We never left the room, traveling from Tampa FL with handicapped mother to visit relatives in Ashland KY. We relaxed in cabin and on the deck overlooking the marina. We brought along our own groceries and ate in room. Attempted to book another overnight to our reservation, but unit 308 was already booked. We liked all the amenities at (JWSRP) and have stayed in numerous state resorts across KY over the years.
Located on Route 23 and less than 3 miles from downtown Prestonsburg, the newly renovated Super 8 features daily grab and go breakfast. Free WiFi is also available.

Paintsville is a town of only 7,000 people but has more amenties then towns of 50,000+ in my area. Kentucky is in the Bible Belt so there are limited options on Sunday, but everything is available on all other days. Since it's located in the Appalachian Mountains, there is town-after-town to visit in the area. It was a fun trip and we look forward to visiting Paintsville a lot more in the future!

Paintsville is a nice town with lots of places to eat and your normal local shopping, Walmart, Lowes, etc. Personally due to handicap needs would pick a different hotel (stayed at Days Inn) next time.

So much in the area to do, but not much to offer in the way of sit down restaurants after 4p. Only fast food, chinese, pizza or mexican to choose from - an Applebees, O’Charley’s, Olive Garden, Longhorn Steakhouse or the such would be a welcome addition!

What a nice place!
What a nice place! We were pleasantly surprised at the variety of places to eat and shop. No problem finding something for everyone. A huge bonus is the friendliness of everyone, everywhere we went. Very, very nice place to visit - we will be back.

My father's family is from the Wittensville/Paintsville area. I spent every summer vacation down here when I was a kid. I love this region of KY. It's beautiful and the people are wonderful.
Check out Jenny Wiley State Park and also Paintsville Lake.
We stayed at this location so we could attend our friends wedding in Paintsville. The house was awesome! Plenty of room for both of our smaller children and four adults. We loved having the extra space that a hotel room could not provide. There was more than enough towels and toiletries to use. The kitchen is also very well stocked! The overall touch and decor throughout the house is very well done and the house has so much character! Check in and check out procedures were very simple. The lock box was very simple to use upon check in.
The hotel is very nice.. however when we were there there was a group of kids jumping in and out of pool, jumping over our heads. We patiently waited for the hot tub everytime we were headed to get in multiple kids in and out. The pool experience was awful. They then began to run up and down hallway being loud and at one point knocking on our door while we were trying to sleep.
Loved this property! It's centrally located between Paintsville and Prestonsburg. The house is large and has shared space and space for privacy. The house is stocked with everything you'll need to enjoy your stay. It's at an intersection so there is some road noise but it is only momentary. We will use this property for all returned trips to the area.
I like that they have a nice outdoor area where the pool is. They keep the pool area VERY clean and they have the chairs and umbrellas out first thing in the morning all day long. I like that they also have late check out and are pet friendly and mostly I like the price range they stay in and that they are a Wyndham place
The hotel staff is absolutely amazing and the hotel is a very very beautiful building. My children love the spiral stairs and the indoor/outdoor the most.
