This is a fantastic city -- creative and vibrant with plenty of big city fun with a small town vibe! Eugene has a fantastic food scene and great book and music shopping and museums. My favourite is the Whiteaker Neighborhood; lots of fantastic dining options and live music plus parks and the beautiful river path. It is a great place to walk and cycle.

Eugene is a college town, and we chose to go on road trips instead of staying in town. If there are games going on, it can be quite hectic to try and get around the city. There are covered bridges to go and see in Cottage Grove, as well as waterfalls and other hikes to partake in in Cottage Grove and outside Eugene.

I will never go to Eugene in the winter again! So cold! And the rain never stopped for our entire stay. And the day we had planned to leave, I-5 was expected to be closed over Siskiyou Pass due to snow and high winds. We left a day early and drove home via the long route, over to 101 and then down the coast. Temp never got above 45 degrees and the rain never stopped, but at least we didn't have to deal with snow. If you need to go to Oregon, schedule it for the summer when it is actually quite pleasant.

It was good to tour the campus although we were there for a wedding. It was sad to see the homeless on the streets. Other than football and sports, I don't know what anyone would do on vacation. A trip to the winery was fun. Eugene is not for us.

Classic college town with a clear progressive and liberal tilt.
The scent of pot being smoke was not uncommon.
The city streets were CLEAN and there were very walkable sidewalks on most city streets.
I saw signs of a concerted public assistance to homeless populations rather than the constant conflict between the haves and the have-nots in Seattle.
I only spent one day but I would have liked to spend more to explore its nooks and crannies.

My family always loves staying in Eugene.
My family always loves staying in Eugene. We travel to the Ducks football games around three to four times at least every season. My family enjoys the location of the Hayward Inn because it is the perfect location for sporting events and amazing restaurants. We love the walk to Autzen Stadium from the hotel as well.
The people: Lorelei in particular was a super host with her super attentive and caring attitude. She welcome us and as ee observed each person intentionally for breakfast. Ensured our son and us found the pencils and drawings for example and more. To be fair this also extended to the reception staff and cleaning crew but Lolerei definitely stood out for us.
The hotel: big room, clean and comfortable bed. Great facilities with fridge. Microwave and coffee maker and good working and rest área.
The location is right in downtown Eugene. We went to a concert at the Hult Center which is directly next door. Very convenient for us! Our room delivered the quintessential Graduate decor (which I love) and the rest of the hotel had many design elements that were fun and inspired by local events and history (also love). The bar/restaurant was great, fun atmosphere and great service. They could use a few healthy options on the menu though.
The hotel was easy to get to from the freeway and had plenty of free parking. It was right across the street from the river with a really nice walkway. It was quite a drive to restaurants in downtown Eugene but then I found a Denny's around the corner so I was happy. The breakfast was nice and the setup was well planned for a single traveler to feel comfortable.
We arrived after dark and had thorough instruction on how to access our room. The bed was comfortable and we had a great nights sleep. Others staying at the Inn were respectful of the quiet hours. Before we checked out, we walked the river path. Although we weren’t there long enough to explore the area, there were plenty of breweries and restaurants nearby.
The location was excellent! The hotel was very well appointed, including a laundry room. The rooms very superb, with everything you could hope for and a beautiful view. In fact, the whole city is beautiful and well worth a visit. The staff was exceedingly friendly and helpful with recommending restaurants, getting reservations, taking care of luggage, etc.
The room and staff were exceptional. The place felt almost brand new and was very clean. I actually found a small piece of packing foam static clung to our bathroom towel rack. We might have been the first to stay in our room. The breakfast was amazing for a FREE hotel breakfast, it was the final bonus that made the extra we paid to stay worth it.
We were in Eugene for the National Track Championships and booked last minute as we were unhappy with our AirB&B. The property is simple but newly remodeled and clean. Good sound proofing from traffic, expensive because of the track event in town but nice stay. full sized fridge and microwave in room.
Came to the Hampton inn Eugene on a buisness trip from london Wonderful place to stay, very clean inside and in the room, lovely complimentary breakfast in the morning plenty to choose from huge thank you to the two young ladies on the front desk they were fantastic very helpful and welcoming!
I loved how clean my room and bathroom was. I was pleasantly surprised! It’s actually WAY better than the Hayward Hotel across campus. I also enjoyed the kitchen and living area it had. I will definitely be booking here again! Also, the staff was EXCEPTIONAL!
Small boutique hotel. Charming old inn with neat courtyards out front. The room was on the small side but spotless. The breakfast wasn’t fancy but a barista made drinks to order and the breakfast area was such a relaxing area in the bistro with jazz music.
A spacious, light and welcoming room offering everything you need, a bright , stylish and welcoming common space and breakfast room on the ground floor, super friendly staff, easy parking facilities and at a very good location in the city center of Eugene.
Spacious, very clean and comfortable room, pleasant staff, and the price is definitely right. The hotel is walking distance from McDonalds, IHOP and Denny's so I didn't try the hotel breakfast. Will stay again if I return to Eugene.
Clean rooms, nice laundry room, loved the little kitchenettes in the room. Perfect for long term stays.
Staff was exceptional, we even had a power outage due to weather and they all handled it amazingly.
Nicely renovated, retro decor fun - room clean and well maintained, the owner very pleasant and helpful. Restaurants and a grocery store nearby, a short driving distance to downtown.
