Eugene has the Hult Center for Performing Arts. It's a beautiful theater. I especially like the concerts and Eugene Ballet. There's a lot of good places to eat, and when heading out of town we always stop at Voodoo Doughnuts. Eugene has public transportation. Although, I've never used it. They have bike stations around the city, too. Most of the time we've parked at our hotel and walked. Eugene has a large homeless population living in the streets. I don't know what services are available for them, but there were a lot of people sleeping on the streets.
Beautiful but small compared to other places visited before. Easy to get to places or venues and even easier when you have a car as you can visit more places. Loved visiting the Eugene Science Centre and the Cascade Raptor Centre with the children. Would have loved to see more places but our time was short. The Valley River Centre is great for shopping and eating plus they have an arcade with games and bowling. There is a cinema there as well but did not have time to go in.
Eugene is always a delight to travel too. The only issues for Eugene (Downtown and University area) is the parking issues. There are either no or very limited parking spaces. Need some type of structure or parking lot that is either free or very limited cost.
Eugene is beautiful university town. Nestled in the bank of McKenzie river, it offers a lots of great restaurants and lively students faculties. If you are into sports, University of Oregon, Eugene has lots of activities happening and they are very proud of it. It's internationally renowned university. Nice to cruz around.
We were not able to stay as long as I wanted. We ate our Thanksgiving meal at .. can’t remember the name , however there were several throughout Eugene. A girls name. We loved staying at The Campbell House. My son works at The University .
I live close to Eugene. This was a shopping overnight getaway with a friend. The hotel is very conveniently located to Valley River Mall. Also the restaurant at the hotel was very good if basic with limited menu options.
We were moving back to the PNW from San Diego and a snow & ice storm hit Portland, stranding us in the hotel a few extra days. The staff has been incredibly accommodating as we've been booking extra time, and have been personable and friendly. Everything has been very clean and comfortable, taking this especially seriously during covid-19. "Hyatt Place" has easily accessible food, treats, shopping, and grocery nearby. It's honestly been the best place we could've been stranded! We've loved our time here.
There was nothing to like about this hotel. The outside is rotting away, the hallway smell of urine, the room was also had a bad odor, stains on bedsheets, there were about five people smoking pot just outside the entry door. The restaurant, Elmers, closed down the day before we got there due to the high crime rate in that area…. My opinion is that this hotel is the nesting ground for this high crime rate..
Eugene
When I get a room, I'm looking for a comfortable bed and a good shower. I slept like a baby and did enjoy a good shower in the morning. Here you also get enjoyable public space. With common areas, both inside and out - you get to visit and develop new friends. The staff is wonderful. I felt like they really enjoy their jobs. And then there is breakfast! It truly is an experience. I loved it!
Eugene
We arrived after dark and had thorough instruction on how to access our room. The bed was comfortable and we had a great nights sleep. Others staying at the Inn were respectful of the quiet hours. Before we checked out, we walked the river path. Although we weren’t there long enough to explore the area, there were plenty of breweries and restaurants nearby.
What a wonderful surprise! The price was right. The location was awesome, right next to Allon Baker Park. Love the interior decorating, esp the smart non-carpet hallyway floors. And we only stay at pet friendly hotels, so Thank You for that! Next time in Eugene, we will stay with you again for sure.
I liked the snack and sundries room and the fact that I could charge items to my room. The hotel is convenient to freeways and both downtown Eugene and Springfield. The room we stayed in had a little kitchen area and the room was supplied with dishes, pots and pans, even soap for the dishwasher.
This is quite simply the best motel I have stayed in. The friendly owners went out of their way to sort out a ground floor room for my wife, who uses crutches. The room was spotless and had recently been fitted out with a brand new bathroom......oh, and it was excellent value for money.
Under Covid restrictions, it was the best breakfast we've had, especially the reheatable sandwich and fruit. Thank you for the coffee in the lobby also. We loved the spacious feel of the room and the clean bathroom and wooden floor.
Very nice, quiet hotel, we got a room with a view of the forest, whoever pays more will get a view of the mountains. There was no breakfast because of the corona. But we got a lunch bag. Comfortable beds Relatively large room
Decor. The convenience of the restaurant. Parking at the hotel. Ice nearby. Security seemed good. Room card needed to get in door at night and to operate the elevator.
Eugene
All new remodel. Thought we were getting cheap old hotel for a few winks after a concert and got WOWED at how new and clean and smart the room was.
THE PLACE WAS IMMACULATE. THE STAFF WAS GENEROUS WITH ADVICE FOR OUR QUESTIONS, PERFECT HOTEL STAFF, SO RARE. WILL STAY THERE AGAIN.
Eugene
The woman at the front desk was great! The room was very spacious and clean. For a cheaper hotel, it was very nice.
Location was good as we were just passing through Eugene for the night easy on and off Hwy.
The hotel was close to stores and a restaurant which made it really nice.
Eugene
lovely as always, our go to hotel in Eugene
Staff really gave extra to make the stay better. We needed an item or two, and they delivered and ran without a tip. The location is ideal for concerts. There is event/surge pricing, so reserve early. The breakfast buffet at the University Inn is a little better than adjacent options.
Eugene
The renovation they have done is fantastic, you can tell they have put a lot of effort in to making this place good, and it has really paid off. Lovely place to stay. Breakfast was also great!
