The check in was fast and simple. We were able to leave our car for $10 a night - which is one of the more reasonable airport parking options, also the car park was reasonably quiet but secure with cameras. The bed was super comfy and the linens were so soft. Had a nice hot bath before bed and watched the big TV! It's a great place to spend a night waiting to go to the airport. Free shuttle bus, too, and free coffee in the lobby in the morning!

I am always biased in favor of the Pacific Northwest (PNW), Portland being a big part of PNW. Portland is a city where you can be in forest in five minutes. go to the the Northwest side, you're like in Bondi, New South Wales in Australia. Go to downtown and you see the biggest bookstore in the world (fact). Portland and Oregon as a whole is a target rich environment for PHOTOGRAPHERS. Portland's Japanese Garden is the most authentic garden outside of Japan as attested by a past Japanese ambassador to the US. If can say that --- so can I. I've been ther many times. Must also see the Portland Rose Garden --- best and biggest I've seen. Portland is after all the City of Roses because roses thrive there because of its climate / weather. When you visit Portland --- make usre you drive along it's MAJESTIC COAST. Man it's breath taking. So PICTURERESQUE.

The location, parking availability, room was nice, staff were very friendly and accommodating when I had questions and let me borrow a map and umbrella! Wish I could have stayed longer but the purpose of my trip didn't allow and the poor rate of the CAD to US was tough to hang out longer unfortunately -

There is so many homeless and criminality that it's the worst place in America. We let our car for one night outside as the valet of our hotel was to high to do is job and we found it totally vandalize on the morning with broken glass. Run away.

Portland has been my "second city" for many years, so I've been to most of the places on your check list. Near my hotel, I would recommend "My Father's Place" if you like the vibe of an old dive bar. Great breakfast, lunch and dinner menu with happy hour drinks and food. One of the oldest, still-in-operation bars in Portland. I had their corned beef hash!

Portland can be a lot of fun, but the homeless problem is out of control. It's not a "war zone" at the current administration would have you believe. There are peaceful protests by people in funny costumes but nothing dangerous. As long as you stay in the right areas it's a blast. Beautiful parks, shopping, and especially dining.

Convenient location for Downtown (although downtown itself isn't the nicest part of Portland). Clean and Quiet. Large comfortable bed with motion sensor downlights underneath which came on automatically when you got out of bed in the middle of the night, which can either be useful or annoying depending if you are the one getting up or not. Nice large shower. Only ate in the cafe once but the breakfast burrito was very good.
