Watching a good friend get married at the Courthouse. The Original Pancake house was a great stop close by AND if you're in the area and like authentic German Food, go to "Otto and Anita's Bavarian Restaurant, that place serves great food! Saturday Farmer's market by the Willamette is pretty neat for art stuff too.
As a solo female traveler there are places to go and not to go when alone. Know your neighborhoods and what time of day it is before you head out. I loved getting out of the city the most and experiencing the beautiful trails and wilderness all within short driving distances. I was there to visit Twilight filming locations but ended up just enjoying wandering Oxbow Park and Multnomah Falls for the sheer beauty. Bridge of the Gods is awesome for a good view. Great little Thai food truck with affordable prices served as two meals for me off Burnside Rd. Voodoo donuts is a must for sweets lovers. Head out to St Helen’s for a quaint morning or lunch visit. Check out The Sports Bra if you’re into womens sports.
The city of Portland is a cool, kickback sort of place. Kind of reminds you of the '70s. Hippie flower power days. But me personally, although the place is beautiful, very lush green vegetation, it just rains too much for me! Great place to visit, but wouldn't want to live there. That's just my opinion
Portland is a fun time for everyone. A lot of options to do and places to go, and there's always something going on. I always forget, however, the high amounts of poverty and trash the city has. It's really sad, especially when you see the dirtiness. There is a lot to see and do and the train is an easy way to get to it. We never used our car when staying in the city!
We didn´t see the city. We needed rest after our arrival from Florida. It was late to go anywhere. We arrived at 10:30 pm, took shower and went to sleep. Hotell's breakfast didn't have anything what I usually eat in the morning. For example, cottage cheese, fresh berry. The choice of fresh fruit was very poor. Room had a view to the pool, but pool looks green like swamp.
I have been traveling to Portland for various business events over the past 12 consecutive years, the last was the fall of 2019 until this most recent venture the first week of April 2022. Things have changed, the feel and vibe; its still there but more subdued maybe introverted since the events two years ago. Anyone wanting to visit should, just use common sense and the locals at your disposal for advice on where not to travel and what areas are free to roam. I never once felt uncomfortable but I was disheartened to see graffiti in place it didn't belong, and other remnants of the upheaval. Portland has a lot of work ahead of itself but I think the quality of people who call it home have it in them to bring it back stronger than ever. Go, explore and encourage.
Packaged breakfast but freshly made every morning. Breakfast fairly good considering its covid time. Starbucks coffee bland and bad, needs more coffee in the brewer. The hotel is conveniently located a walking distance to shops and restaurants. The area is definitely cleaner and safer than staying in downtown Portland. I love the big rooms that has a seating area complete with a desk, fridge and microwave. The rooms are relatively clean and decor fairly up to date. I would stay here again but i just wish the walls are more soundproof.
Room was decorated very nicely, had a comfy lounger in addition to the large bed. Open patio breakfast was wondering, getting to eat while watching downtown Portland in the open air patio. The service and the amenities were very good, and the hotel is located in the heart of the Pearl District, within walking distance of many attractions.
The room was great, very comfy beds and ensuite. The staff were knowledgeable and professional. There's a gym too. We slept well. Basically for the location, this is a great hotel. It's just the location that wasn't so relaxing. Further into the Pearl away from downtown/Old town would be better, or maybe the other side...
Hotel was fine, but a bit pricey as all Portland hotels are. Room was fine, did the job. Breakfast was good with an adequate selection of food items. Easy access to the Metro line to the downtown area was one of the reasons why we chose this hotel. Metro bus to the Alberta district was another bonus. Free parking.
Best value in downtown Portland. Recommend 100%. Bathrooms are shared but I never had to wait once and they are extremely clean. Bedrooms are very quiet and cozy. The rooftop mini concerts are really cool. I've stayed several times and would always go back if available.
Great location in Downtown Portland. Beautiful hotel, inside and out. I really love the aesthetics. Coffee was delicious. Wish I had ordered the room-service breakfast from the Bullard, because it seemed like a great deal. Great amenities and friendly staff.
The property was located downtown in decent area. It was not entirely of the midst of homeless that I read about other hotels in the Portland area. It was also very aesthetic- had a nice vintage vibe to it. The staff was very friendly and accommodating.
Loved the location, right next to a Walmart Incase you need anything, the highway, and the airport. A quick drive into downtown Portland as well. The fitness center was open during COVID which is a rare find and hot breakfast ghat included eggs.
Very nice and considerate staff, they kept me informed and well stocked. The rooms are great, can be aired through open windows, beds are fantastic. The hotel is a great place to start any day in the city, right along the river and downtown
Located right in the heart of downtown, the location is great if you juts want to spend a few days walking around Portland. Lot's of things to do and see within easy walking distance and the hotel itself is a pleasure to stay at!!
