The flavored water with ginger, lime, lemon, etc. The yoga equipment is in rooms, and not a lot of kids in the pool. I could actually enjoy the hot tub. The wall of plants. Close to the surgical center shopping malls, eateries, and football stadium. Easy access to freeway. Parking. Having a little restaurant bar and a mini store. Even though we didn't use it. It was pricey for us.

This is a fantastic city -- creative and vibrant with plenty of big city fun with a small town vibe! Eugene has a fantastic food scene and great book and music shopping and museums. My favourite is the Whiteaker Neighborhood; lots of fantastic dining options and live music plus parks and the beautiful river path. It is a great place to walk and cycle.

Eugene is a college town, and we chose to go on road trips instead of staying in town. If there are games going on, it can be quite hectic to try and get around the city. There are covered bridges to go and see in Cottage Grove, as well as waterfalls and other hikes to partake in in Cottage Grove and outside Eugene.

I will never go to Eugene in the winter again! So cold!
I will never go to Eugene in the winter again! So cold! And the rain never stopped for our entire stay. And the day we had planned to leave, I-5 was expected to be closed over Siskiyou Pass due to snow and high winds. We left a day early and drove home via the long route, over to 101 and then down the coast. Temp never got above 45 degrees and the rain never stopped, but at least we didn't have to deal with snow. If you need to go to Oregon, schedule it for the summer when it is actually quite pleasant.

It was good to tour the campus although we were there for a wedding. It was sad to see the homeless on the streets. Other than football and sports, I don't know what anyone would do on vacation. A trip to the winery was fun. Eugene is not for us.

Classic college town with a clear progressive and liberal tilt.
The scent of pot being smoke was not uncommon.
The city streets were CLEAN and there were very walkable sidewalks on most city streets.
I saw signs of a concerted public assistance to homeless populations rather than the constant conflict between the haves and the have-nots in Seattle.
I only spent one day but I would have liked to spend more to explore its nooks and crannies.

My family always loves staying in Eugene.
My family always loves staying in Eugene. We travel to the Ducks football games around three to four times at least every season. My family enjoys the location of the Hayward Inn because it is the perfect location for sporting events and amazing restaurants. We love the walk to Autzen Stadium from the hotel as well.
I didn’t eat the breakfast, but what I liked was that in my weariness, arriving late from the airport just before midnight, the hotel employee seemed to be looking out for me and just appeared at the moment I was trying to get my bearings, trying to decide if UBER even dropped me in the right place (UBER did!). There was a genuine kindness in her greeting and help offered.
As an Oregon native who has been away a long time, I forget how relatively quiet and restful being in Eugene can be. Such a great sleep! Thank You!
My wife and I stayed just the one night but we had an excellent room, both in size and cleanliness. Bed was really comfortable! Upon arrival we had a minor issue getting into our room, the latch slid into locked position. The woman at the front desk was very polite and helpful. Using a tool she had in the desk we got in and were all set. The breakfast area was very clean and spacious. We have a on going to U of O in Eugene and plan on staying there whenever we can. Already recommended it to several parents we met!
The room was clean and had a good view of Alton Baker park. The TV was big and had a channel guide and plenty of channels. Check in was a breeze and there were plenty of luggage carts even though the hotel was busy. The location is perfect for exploring the Eugene area. Although I don't have one, this place is very pet friendly and saw both cats and dogs;; although my room had no animal smells. The work out room and swimming pool is available 24 hrs.
The hotel was super easy to get too, and the newly paved parking lot was very nice. The rooms all being on the ground floor was a plus and we had a very peaceful sleep. A continental breakfast and fresh coffee was a nice surprise since I thought that was not provided. And the greatest thing of all... Voodoo Donuts is only 1,000 steps away!
Motel was renovated last year from top to bottom by new owners and re-named. So ignore any old, bad reviews. The quality of the furnishings and fittings is excellent, and the style and design of the room I stayed in could not really be faulted. Great free snacks and drinks in-room. Highly recommended.... apart from...
I chose this hotel for its proximity to the airport. I was impressed with how clean and quiet the room was, and the adaptability of its staff. (The building was being remodeled and there was no lobby to check in, but the receptionist met me in the parking lot with all necessary check-in items.)
The location is fantastic for the University of Oregon (slightly further from downtown Portland). Room was fine - spacious and with all the amenities and more you would expect in a budget hotel. Some wonderful walks across the river.
Staff was friendly and helpful with taxi service prior to arrival. Close to downtown and University of Oregon. Much cheaper than hotels that increased their rates due to special events. Large mini fridge and microwave in room.
Such a great place! It has renewed my interest in "motels". Retro but so modern. We loved being able to pull right up to the door of our room. The location was perfect. We loved it.
it’s located in a vibrant area of Eugene. close to downtown and campus but it’s in its own commercially rich area. The building is new and clean. love the terrace bar.
