Maria was wonderful. She was friendly and very helpful explaining all the amenities. We truly enjoyed our brief stay.
Ft. Myers area in general seems very run down. So many vacant properties.
It is an intimate, extremely clean, comfortable and quaint little place with spacious cabins surrounding a lake. Service was above reproach and our stay was beyond satisfactory.
+ great location at lake + a lot of stuff for cooking + very, very nice stuff
- did not receive wifi in cabin - a little dirty and shabby
Lovely spot - very tranquil and only about a mile or so from DT Ft Myers. Property well kept & clean - staff very nice and helpful and a great value. Pool area very nice too.
Nothing really all was as advertised,
Boyfriend and I had a wonderful time. Area was very quiet. The most relaxing vacation that I have had in a long time.
Only thing that I did not like was the wifi signal was horrible. But I was not relying on it for work so it didn't really matter.
The patio - lake view - room was comfortable - having a kitchen
No phone or wi-fi. Needed a larger tv
The tranquil setting was great- pool area was very well maintained and rooms were clean. Overall an excellent value.
We had a great night's rest! You usually "get what you pay for," so (even with the positive reviews) I wasn't sure what to expect. I figured since we were only going to be there 1 night, we could deal with it. Sure wish we could have stayed longer!
Our porch on the lake was a great spot for breakfast and turtle watching. The room was very clean, and housekeeping kept it clean. Shannon in the office was so helpful for locating restaurants and shops. She also offered to bring in a microwave since ours didn't work.
The mattress was saggy.
The Rock Lake Resort is definitely great for the money. Rooms are small and quaint, nothing luxurious, but they are cute in a historic way. The grounds and location are fantastic. Also we found out they allow pets for a very reasonable price. We will come here again the next time we visit Ft. Myers.
The only thing we didn't like was the mattress. It was uncomfortable comparing it to what we have at home.
I loved the cottage and being right on the pond. We fed the fish and turtles and that was a blast. The pool was spotless and its great to have a pool bathroom instead of having to go back to your room. Its great that you can borrow the kayaks and canoe
The microwave didn't work and there is no phone in the room to call the office. The canoe and kayaks hadn't been used in a while so they were dirty and had bees in them. I hope that's resolved when we go back because I would love to use them
Rock Lake Resort is a hidden gem near downtown Ft. Myers. Although it was built during an earlier era, the buildings have been renovated and are quaint cottages, which offer quiet and comfort. In my opinion, Rock Lake Resort offers a taste of old Florida in a modern environment. In other words, unlike the big chain hotels, Rock Lake Resort has character, which other modern resorts lack.
Located in a tiny private park, it is very quiet inside the room. I was not annoyed by any traffic noise from a street during my stay.
The quality of staff depends on whom you meet at the front desk. A mature lady I met at the time of check-in was kind and friendly, having explained all I needed to know. Another lady I met at the same front desk for check-out looked blunt and rude.
Perfect spot for sun and relaxing. My wife and I travel and have stayed in some very fine hotels and resorts. I have never left one more relaxed and pleased than this one. We will be back and will recommend it highly to everyone
Couldn't stay longer due to our schedule. Did not want to leave!
Clean and Great location
No Working TV need update!
Convenient to places I needed to be at
Microwave broken, roaches in kitchen, a/c took a long time to cool down very hot room. Went to check out at 9am and office was closed. Had to make extra trip back to turn in key.
The "resort" is cute and you can tell when it was built many years ago, it was very nice. It has a great pond in the center (they call it a lake) with fish in it to watch (no fishing there) It is secluded and their weren't many other guests, so it was private. Nice covered porch. Staff was friendly. Much smaller in person than in pics. It's a shame someone isn't taking better care of it. For all the complaints I have, we did enjoy it for the cheap price!
The facility is very run down. The cottage itself was updated but the facility is falling apart. The washers and dryers were so full of debris (they are under a pavilion but outdoors) I had to clean one out before I could use it. They look to be at least 30 years old. They had a warped ping pong table and delapidated tennis court. Pool was nice but very small. The grass needed to be cut for most of our 5 day stay. That made getting back to the creek where the kayak and canoe were an adventure in bugs. The porch/deck overlooking the creek was also very run down. You could only use the 2 kayaks, 1 canoe or ping pong paddles during office hours (9a-7p) after that, no one was around. Internet really slow and TV old and tiny on the wall. They advertise "great fishing". I guess they mean in the creek but we didn't even get a bite after several days. You are not allowed to fish in the pond that you can see from your room. Tiny sink, silverware had stains on it. Minifridge with something dark spilled in bottom. You have to walk across street to get to office. Twice we were approached by homeless men for money/food. They seem to hang out around the bus stop right there.
location, helpful staff, heated outdoor pool
I came after midnight and nobody was there and they did not leave the key for me as planned.
Nice quiet setting. Nice lake view.
Wifi was downright terrible. Slow and random at best. Checking in was a nightmare due to construction and the lobby to checking was across a busy street.
not enough towels
Did enjoy the patio sit out and have coffee in the morning and watch the fish and the turtles in the pond great place for the money would recommend it to friends and family.we will stay there again.
It was very relaxing and exactly how it looked in the pictures. You can not beat this place for the price. The dolphin waterfalls, the pool and poolchairs were great, and the canoes an kayaks were easily accessible and free! We love Rock Lake Resort.
Some of the nature walks planks were broken which was surprising (dangerous) other than that there was nothing we didn't like!
This place was very relaxing, clean and quiet. A very nice way to end a busy week end. We plan to come back and stay longer on more than a business trip. Love the cottages around the lake, watching the fish and turtles while having coffee on the porch. More than expected for sure.
We found nothing we did not like.
Even though you were in a city you felt like you were in a secluded place. Friendly staff. Cute bungalows around the lake. Looking forward to returning there on our next trip to the area.
