Location is very close to downtown, gated property, staff is very helpful. We were at the end of the hallway and it was very quiet in the hotel. There is a restaurant and bar that's very convenient if you don't want to drive everywhere, and breakfast was good.

We went to all you can eat brunch with family and it was a good value. The waiter and cook were accommodating and pleasant. The check in process was smooth and the front desk attendant was very nice. I liked the text update option.

Loved the view and balcony, access to walking path. The bed and bedding were comfortable. TV was good size.

We came to Yakima with our senior marching band for a parade and was happy to see the big crowds and welcoming people. We actually saw gas for $3.89 a gallon. We only spent one night, so we didn't get to see much of Yakima. It seemed like a nice town with equally nice people

The Red Lion Inn was an absolute disaster, the room we booked with a kitchenette reeked of cat urine, so they put us in a much smaller room (for the same price) that also smelled terrible...with no offer of a refund we checked into another hotel.

A night there was robbed.
A night there was robbed. I tried to book for an extra day instead when I went to go get the cash to pay them I came back to finding out that they had called the cops say that I left all my children there and that I need to pick them up and anyways the cops had left before I got there because I only left my older child there and they fall asleep reported me to CPS CPS dropped everything because it was a false report however they charged me $50 for a late checkout fee when I wasn't checking out I had booked another extra day and I went to go get the money for it I had found out they called the cops on me for leaving my one son and falsely accused me for leaving All My Children. The night was supposed to cost me $72 instead they made me leave and pay $50 for Life checkout fees. I don't know how this kind of people could live with themselves I don't think they're on any kind of drugs so it's pretty sad that they're that bad of people and they're just bad people not even drug addicts. God will take care of them

There are some great wineries near Yakima, which was the reason we were in the area. I had never been to this area, though, and didn't realize how seedy some of the downtown is. If going out there again, I would opt to stay somewhere outside the city.

Depending on where you stay in Yakima it can be very beautiful. The wine and beer scene is up and coming. I think this is attracting a younger crowd. But the fishing, boating, and camping still has a strong following. If you are coming for either, this place will fit your needs.

We only go to Yakima to visit family, otherwise we would not choose Yakima as a destination. At least now there are a few restaurants that are not bad. We ate at Waterfire a couple of times, which was fairly consistent and rather good quality food. We also ate at Cowiche Kitchen a couple of times, with mixed results. The lodging seems and has always seemed overpriced considering the location.
Owen Roe winery is just out of town past Union Gap, and I consider this the high point of any trip to Yakima.
The local museum is interesting and has varied exhibits. It's adjacent to a large public park with a seasonal swimming pool, tennis courts, and a large play area for kids. It's next to one of the middle schools. Yakima is slowly slowly gentrifying, or rather less skeevy than it has been historically. Of all the places to go in Washington state, I'd say Yakima is very low on my list of "must see" places.
The hotel is in a good location close to the downtown and some nice new bars and restaurants. At first impression this is a very large hotel which is slightly frayed at the edges but the room was very quiet and comfortable and the staff were friendly and helpful. We were able to park our car outside the room which was useful. We only stayed one night and as it was warm and light we took advantage of walking a few blocks to a nice restaurant in the downtown. A few dodgy characters about but they didn't bother us.
Road construction was completed last November. Entrance is nice. Only one way in that prevents cruisers and homeless traffic. Pool appears open. Great cleaning staff. Good parking in front of my room with wide spaces. Very secure for the price. Great TV with Netflix. Fridge and micro was a plus. Best cheap Motel in Yakima. They try to keep everything working and clean. Key card access.
The room was adequate once we were changed to a non-smoking room. The breakfast was quite good. Entry to the hotel was limited in relation to parking. The grounds were not inviting - strictly parking all the way around - no greenery or gardens. The pavement surrounding everything makes for an easy clean-up but impossibly hot to be outdoors in.
We stopped over on the way to Mount Rainier. This place was such a lovely surprise! The staff were all extremely polite and helpful. Our room was spacious and comfortable as well as quiet. We enjoyed using the indoor pool and jacuzzi. The complimentary breakfast was good and the lady preparing the breakfast could not have been more delightful.
We liked the room layout. It is not a traditional hotel room. Having the kitchen and living room space was amazing. It was nice to have a larger fridge/freezer and sets of dishes. Also, we liked that they had a garbage/recycle room, so you don't have to keep all your garbage to the end for the housekeeper.
Breakfast was standard motel fare and good. Very nice pool overlooking river but too hot to really experience much outdoors except for an hour or so after dawn. Best Mex. restaurant outside of Mexico right next to parking lot.
The bed was comfortable and the location was convenient. It was clear the room had been cleaned, but a deeper clean was overdue. The price was reasonable for the area and I would stay again if opportunity arose.
The option to park in the gated area of the hotel was nice. We were in town for a hockey tournament so it made us feel better about anything that may have been left in the car overnight to air out.
The indoor pool and hot tub being open 24hrs. The great front desk service(which is why Im booking again). I liked my room very much. It was what Id expect at a Hotel costing 3 times as much.
Location: All rooms face the Yakima River, away from traffic. Paved walking path along the River.
Full breakfast: Waffles, eggs and sausage, yogurt, fresh fruit.
Really great staff. Exceptional customer service. Great breakfast buffet. Great location, and we enjoyed walking the trail behind the hotel next to the river.
