Seattle is / was my home town.. Given the political climate and overall LESS welcoming appearance of the downtown area that really manifested itself this summer with the "new" city of "CHAD", I truly recommend to people that they refrain from visiting Seattle until the voting citizens of the general Puget Sound get their HEADS out of their collective hind sides an elect appropriate mayor and city council "leaders". This city, like Portland, San Fran and LA are extremely disappointing, simply due to the lack of effective political leadership.
I come to Seattle a lot due to work. I have time with my wife here so we have stayed in different areas from Everette to downtown to Bremerton for example. I like Seattle's surrounding areas. Downtown is seriously hurt due to Covid for 2 reasons: 1) homeless dominate many downtown areas and 2) no eating inside the restaurants (many have closed down). All areas are very friendly. I have the highest regards for the residents and business staff. However, until the Gov. opens the restrictions I would not come to Seattle area for vacationing. When opened up, there is so much to see and do for quaint, cultural, romantic and outdoor experiences. Also using the bus and the Rail Link are very good. Do not be afraid. I have come to use them leaving and going to the airport all the time. And don't miss the ferries.
Seattle is a great city! There are so many things to see. The Public Market is a part of the heartbeat of this city. The waterfront is also a must-see. You can spend more but the fish and chips at Ivars are the best I've had anywhere in the world. The Ye Old Curiosity Shop has something for everyone. The Seattle Aquarium, the Seattle Center and a trip up the Space Needle are all wonderful. The EMP, The Seattle Art Museum, the Woodland Park Zoo a baseball game at Safeco Field, The Seattle Seahawks for football and we have great soccer here too. Our team The Sounders are sure to excite. Take in a show at the 5th Avenue Theater and top it off with a very romantic dinner at the Canlis.
I chose this hotel because I stay at travelodge Monterey allot but this girl needs allot of work. It had bed bugs bug ones and no heat and allot of cleaning to do. Had to get toilet paper daily we were only given 1 roll a day but had 4 people in our room. If you can stay some where else please do this place is horrible. Marcus had great customer service thanks Marcus for your help. Christine was ok but had a few smart comments to say daily like she was was irritated by my stay: requesting to speak to manager was blocked by Christine . Domestic violence also took place during my stay it was bad. Will never stay at this place again ever!
I stayed for only one night and left late afternoon the next day. So I had only a couple of hours to explore. I stayed mostly in Chinatown trying to find the best dim sum spot. It's small compared to San Francisco. Based on what was open during the pandemic, Dim Sum King is the best place for dim sum. Most items can be ordered in single pieces. Prices are reasonable. There wasn't that much to see due to the pandemic. Waterfront is quiet for a Friday afternoon.
Drug addicted and severely mentally ill screaming, exposing themselves on main downtown streets, ppl said police won't (not allowed to) do anything. People sleeping in front of businesses, areas of extreme filth. Seattleites seem numb to the degradation of their city. Would not take my children there. Seattle needs to have some standards. Definitely going in the wrong direction. Sad they're destroying a once great city.
Great room, lots of space. Its not a new modern hotel, so don't expect that, but in my opinion it was better than a new, modern hotel - plenty of room, had a kitchen, wardrobe etc. Great area felt safe walking home at night alone etc.
Five star service in a lovely setting. Very good value for money in the two-Queen bed suite, which had double bathrooms which I’ve never had before (great for travelling with friends)
