FAQs about hotels in Seattle

The Emerald City

Nicknamed the Emerald City due to its lush greenery, Seattle is best known for its great waterfront, fantastic skyline and infamous rainy weather. In reality though, the city gets less rain a year than New York or Atlanta!

One look at Seattle’s skyline and you’re immediately drawn to the iconic Space Needle. Standing proudly at 600 feet, this major landmark features a rotating restaurant at 490 feet and has been featured in numerous films and TV shows, including the classic "Sleepless in Seattle."

The Needle isn't far from the popular Pike Place Market, a public farmer’s market selling fresh produce and crafts from local farms and independent merchants. It’s also the place where the Starbucks Corporation was founded in 1971. Enjoy a cup of coffee in their original store! Seattle has many popular parks and, thanks to its mild marine climate, is a great place for outdoor activities. A visit to Kerry Park to admire the best view of the city with Mt. Rainier in the background is a must!

Arriving at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, you’re only about 35 minutes from downtown and whether you’re looking for a hotel with free parking or near the airport, Booking.com has a great choice for your Seattle trip.

    A great city to visit.

A great city to visit. Really easy to get around using rail, buses and plenty of walking. Lots to see and do. Just be careful walking around at night as with many cities a lot of homeless and drug crime on the streets. A lot of police and security present in the main areas which helps make you feel safe. Use taxis to get around at night, fairly cheap. Would recommend to visit.

Those of us who live in my part of Canada are lucky to have easy access to, what most of us consider, one of the nicest, safest and most under rated cities in the USA. There is so much to like about this city- most of all it's cleanliness, safety, sanity and the people.

The Seattle airport involves a LOT of walking.

The Seattle airport involves a LOT of walking. My plane arrived at 5 pm and the airport was pretty much deserted. I found the signage confusing, walked around and around trying to find the train to go into the city but just couldn’t find it and nobody seemed to know where it was, plus a friend who lives in Seattle advised me not to take that train as there had been several standings in the previous couple of weeks, so I then looked for the Uber pick up spot. Found it after walking around for about 30 minutes, again no clear signage and then proceeded to pay $76 U.S. to get to my downtown hotel. The next morning I was taking a train up to Vancouver and had to take a cab about 4 blocks. The driver had quoted me $20 for the short trip and I refused. Finally settled on $15 but when we reached the station and I gave him a $20 bill, he conveniently had no change. Not sure what the fare would have been if he’d turned the meter on but he said something was wrong with it. Easy cash right from me into his pocket.😡

We did a few of the tourist spots, specifically Pike Place Market and the Chihuly art gallery and garden, and both locations were easy to get to and very nice. The market is huge! We also visited the international district, and would recommend it to anyone who loves authentic asian cuisine. I would recommend you stay downhill of the freeway overpass; once we walked uphill past the overpass, the area got more rundown and seedy. We did not use the public transit but there was plenty available. The downtown area is pretty clean for a city, with a lot of food options. Our splurge dinner was at Sushi Kashiba, and if you're a sushi lover and have it in the budget to do the omakase experience, I would highly recommend it! Biscuit Bitch was an awesome breakfast spot and I would also recommend grabbing a sandwich from there! If you have the time, I would also recommend renting a car and leaving the city for either the Cascade Mountains or Olympic National Park; if you're not from the northwestern US the views and nature are stunning and unlike anywhere else.

Seattle is a lovely city with access to the harbor, great restaurants, like the BOCA Argentinean steak house. Worth traveling to the museum of flight. Bring your walking shoes as Seattle is a hilly city.

I love Seattle, We had a great view of the space needle and New Year's eve fireworks. However, property is close to a night club and noise was horrible inside and out. Especially the people above us. We did not get greeted by anyone initially and struggled to get into the facility due to a wrong cell number obtained & never updated. Greeter didn't take much time to give us needed information including WIFI access. We were locked out of our room a day early and struggled again for re-entry. There was no mention of a pool prior to entry so we ended up having to buy swim suits when we arrived.

I stayed in a room shared by three others. I got to meet someone from Brazil, someone from France and someone from India. It's fascinating to listen to their stories. The hotel also had complimentary breakfast (some granula bars, coffee, banana and oranges). They had a kitchen with multiple stoves, a big refrigerator. One can cook one's own food. This is one of the two affordable stay options in downtown Seattle. There's a rail link and a bus station right opposite to the hotel.

The room was much more spacious than expected and it was a bonus that we could see the Space Needle. The room and facilities were very clean and the bed was very comfortable. Room Service is at request only, which I personally prefer. The location downtown is within 10-15 min walking distance to the waterfront, Pike Market and many other places (Space Needle 30 min) so there is no need for PT if you are willing/able to walk a little and are not venturing further out.

Parking is available on site for around $15/day. I know people who aren't used to paying for parking think that is high, but other hotels in downtown Seattle charge at least double or, you have to find a parking garage which can charge over $40/day. Due to COVID, the complimentary breakfast is available, but bagged and is not continental. I think it's nice because it's safer and they are still offering something quick to eat.

Our room, already at a good rate, was upgraded because they had the space! Staff welcoming and helpful with checkin, parking and closeby restaurant information. Elevator was very nice. Location perfect for the purpose of our stay. Restaurant in hotel was very good for breakfast and we enjoyed the menu and atmosphere. The location was amazing. I rly liked that this hotel is located in the downtown Seattle. And the room was clean and I liked that they have a heater in the room. TV was also great. They allow us to see the local TV channels. Also, I had movement issue when I stayed there but they did understand my situation and delay my check out time for 30 mins. I rly appreciate it.

The location is the best aspect about this hotel. It is in downtown Seattle and is close to a bunch of shops and restaurants. Pike Place Market and Starbucks Reserve are both less than a 15-minute walk. The staff are very nice, polite, and accomodating. It is also close to the train station entrances/exits. Very accessible when taking the Link from SeaTac airport!

We had a three night stay at the Paramount and it was everything we needed. The hotel was well located (but a bit difficult to find with one way streets downtown) and we could walk everywhere. Valet parking was easy. We didn't use any of the hotel facilities, except the bar which was very pleasant. The room was spacious and well decorated, bed very comfy.

Location is great. We parked our car for $27 at the hotel and had a whole day to explore the downtown by walking there directly from the hotel. The lounge was awesome, to have a drink at night and coffee with Danish pastry in the morning. Very nice, quite, friendly and clean place to stay and explore Seattle.
