FAQs about hotels in Seattle

The Emerald City

Nicknamed the Emerald City due to its lush greenery, Seattle is best known for its great waterfront, fantastic skyline and infamous rainy weather. In reality though, the city gets less rain a year than New York or Atlanta!

One look at Seattle’s skyline and you’re immediately drawn to the iconic Space Needle. Standing proudly at 600 feet, this major landmark features a rotating restaurant at 490 feet and has been featured in numerous films and TV shows, including the classic "Sleepless in Seattle."

The Needle isn't far from the popular Pike Place Market, a public farmer’s market selling fresh produce and crafts from local farms and independent merchants. It’s also the place where the Starbucks Corporation was founded in 1971. Enjoy a cup of coffee in their original store! Seattle has many popular parks and, thanks to its mild marine climate, is a great place for outdoor activities. A visit to Kerry Park to admire the best view of the city with Mt. Rainier in the background is a must!

Arriving at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, you’re only about 35 minutes from downtown and whether you’re looking for a hotel with free parking or near the airport, Booking.com has a great choice for your Seattle trip.

Seattle is like any other bigger city.

Seattle is like any other bigger city. The waterfront is nice. There are a lot of events that happen in the city, from concerts to sports matches. It great for that. I think it's a bit overpriced but if you have the budget for it 2-3 days is enough

Great place to visit for somewhere different.

Great place to visit for somewhere different. Lots to see in the city itself with great transport links to neighbouring islands across the Puget Sound such as Bainbridge Island. Also easy to head north to Canada and visit Vancouver. Seattle is however very expensive, so bear this in mind when budgeting.

Really liked the walkability and public transit system! Great university. Seattle is planning some interesting changes along the waterfront. Also enjoyed our visit to Bainbridge Island. Intrigued by their runoff water management design.

Seattle is so eclectic! There's so much to see and do.

Seattle is so eclectic! There's so much to see and do. You could live there a month and still not be able to squeeze it all in! I love the atmosphere and the variety of people and cultures. Parking is difficult. Uber when you can. Don't get overwhelmed by the people and traffic. Breathe, relax, and enjoy yourself leisurely.
