Nice little community with a central business area that has a few restaurants and services. Convenient place to stay when you play the Home Course Golf Course. The Home Course is owned by the Washington State Golf Association and has hosted national golf Championships. It's a really good track for a good price. Dupont is convenient also if you are doing business with the Joint Base or other businesses nearby. Farelli's pizza provides good service and a menu with a variety of non-pizza options. Their Signature Salad is very good.
The City of Leavenworth is a sweet little Bavarian town with a lot of cute shops and restaurants. Also a ski hill is nearby along with beautiful Leavenworth National Park. Also nearby are a tremendous amount of fruit orchards and wineries with tasting rooms in Wenatchee, Peshastin, and Cashmere. I grew up in Washington State and went to college an hour south of this area, but hadn't been to the area for quite some time and was blown away by how gorgeous everything is. It's absolutely beautiful with quite a bit to see and do.
A cozy, college town feel in the southern Palouse country of Washington State. Close to the wilderness of the Blue Mountains and not far from the rugged terrain of the Snake River canyon area just before joining the Columbia, this historical, small city shows it honors its strong ties to early settlers to Washington. Walla Walla offers a great combination of rural, ranch and farm with recent refinements representative of a quickly maturing regional wine industry that is becoming very attractive to "city folk" who will find the drive from Portland, Seattle or Spokane quite rewarding.
The Palouse is a great view. Plus the Washington State University is there and there are water falls and the Columbia and Snake river are not far.
Washington State University is a beautifully laid out university situated on hillsides giving the walker a surprise over every hill and cluster of well managed trees and shrubs.
Seattle is a beautiful city, especially at night to see the city scape. Highly recommend a park called Kerry Park, wow thats an amazing place to see the city at night and during the day. The only downfall to Seattle is to not go during the "rainy months". You will not be able to see the beauty of the Olympic mountains and Mt Ranier. Its still a great place to go for indoor during rainy season. Pikes Market place is awesome, make sure to visit the famous " bubble gum wall". Also there is a great new "flying experience" like an Imax theater, called Wings Over Washington. That was worth the trip, it took you on a tour of Washington State up close and personal. This ride is at the waterfront next to the Giant Wheel. You definitely felt like you were flying. This was my 4th trip out, however my daughter has never been and she was very impressesd with the city. Chuhily glass garden, science center are great attractions.
Seattle is a beautiful city with lots to do and see. The traffic is horrible most of the time! That’s what you get with too many people and nowhere for freeway expansion. Pick your time of day to travel and things will go a lot smoother! Pike Place market, the Space needle, Seahawks stadium,. Washington State is home to great food, wine, micro brews and Starbucks cooffee!
Pullman is a good place to go if you have a reason to go Washington State University Veterinarian Clinics. Dinner at The Birch & Barley was excellent. Best crab cakes and mussels! Cocktails were good also. There is a great walking/bicycle trail that goes several miles to Moscow Idaho.
Although it was just an overnight stop on the last night of a 4 week road trip before our flight home to Florida, we really enjoyed our visit. We still talk about it because where would you find the local government and private shop owners cooperate, commit and accomplish a task to create a Swiss/Austrian village in the middle of Washington State? To completely reface their town, plant gardens, hang flowers, put in horse drawn wagons is incredible. We live in a small town in north central Florida. I DO NOT believe you could get any one of those factors to occur between 2 shop owners to create a theme here to promote tourism and sales. We were very impressed with Leavenworth.
Public transport getting better in Seattle. Loved brunch at Sorrento Hotel except for screaming children at nearby table. Seattle Center has seen better days, don’t bother. Olympic Sculpture Park great. Northlake Tavern still wonderful. Washington State Ferry system terrific. Frye Art Museum terrific. U of W campus as beautiful as ever. Pike Place Market still great, if incredible overcrowded when cruise ships in port. Best restaurant: Maximilian’s. Overall, the city has become far too noisy for me. It will be a long time before I spend more than a few hours at a time in the city.
Reception was friendly, insuring we had everything we needed. Room/Facilities were very clean and well-decorated; building was renovated last year. Continental breakfast had a lot of variety. // We took the public bus, #140, to get to and from the Washington State Ferries harbor. The bus stop was about a five-minute walk from the hotel. Cost $1.00! Fidalgo Bay estuary was about a 10-minute walk from the hotel. It has a signed-walking/bicycle path. Very beautiful.
Outstanding, Beautiful, Elegant!!.. Nothing else like it on the Olympic Peninsula of Washington state… or just about anywhere else!! Great staff! They were courteous..patient… kind… accomodating.. professional.. Facilities just breathtaking.. Comfort was amazing. Decorated with a stunningly BEAUTIFUL Pacific Northwest native American art collection from The People.. Everything they do is elegant! Everything is the highest quality ! This is no ordinary hotel!!
It was nothing to brag about. The lighting is horrible and cheap. I know you guys don't exactly have a bunch of wealthy staying there. If you want to experience an amazing set of hotels, you guys should visit Tulalip. It's flawless. The furniture and everything else is alright. But Washington state is such a 30 year behind the times place, i guess it doesn't matter. When you're at Tulalip, it makes you forget you're here.
Every evening, we watched the sun set over the water and fell asleep to the sound of waves lapping against the side of the hotel. Doesn't get better. More importantly, the staff were wonderful -- impeccably courteous -- and I mean everyone. This has got to be one of the best hotels for the money in Washington State. I highly recommend it.
Puyallup
I've encountered two staff members at the front desk throughout my stay. Both of them are very friendly. The bed feels better than expected considering the price. Free Wifi is available with broad xfinitywifi coverage. Less than 10 minutes walking distance to Washington State Fairgrounds.
Friendly staff at Front Desk and hotel staff in Housekeeping and at Breakfast area. Very clean comfortable rooms. Delicious hot breakfast with variety for all guests. Fitness center and indoor pool & spa. We look forward to staying again when we are in Washington State. Thank you.
clean, smelled nice, quiet and gave a tranquil like vibe.
This was amazing weekend for me and my husband the rooms were very nice and clean and the breakfast was amazing you're right on the ocean and you can't beat the price for a great weekend the outside of the building needs a little updating but that's to be expected when you live by the ocean and seagulls are always on top of your roof but the front desk people were amazing
The room was fantastic, huge and with a lovely view. The hotel exceeded my expectations and the staff was very friendly and helpful
The 2 bed suite was huge! We liked the ocean view, the fake fireplace and seating area, and the layout of the suite. The beds were extremely comfortable. It has many vintage features which we enjoyed, but which might not fit all visitors.
We always enjoy meals at Packers. The pizza was a really fine surprise. The women who waited on us were wonderfully patient with us 80 plus year olds.
Very large room and beautifully furnished and deorated
The assistant manager (can't recall his name) remembered me at check in because I had a couple questions prior to arriving.
Excellent location, close to hiking trails. Heated pool was a bonus.
The location is fabulous - breath taking views over the mountains. All staff were very friendly and always attentive. Breakfast was lovely - coffee with an amazing view and the choices on the menu great, out favorite was the salmon/pea puree toast, yummy! We also hit the bar a couple of times and burger, brisket & chicken sandwich were excellent - paired with craft beer on tap. We enjoyed the pool as well as the lake nearby where we did stand up paddling. There are numerous hiking trails leaving right from the resort - again, beautiful scenery, all well marked. The room was a standard size, two comfy beds and a completely remodeled, modern bathroom. We stayed in 322 - nice mountain view yet the view on the other side is even better. Winthrop is an idyllic little town with many eclectic boutiques and good restaurant options - our favorite by far was Jupiter. So all in all - highly recommendable to stay at the lodge. There a number of highly critical reviews and we were honestly rather skeptical when driving up to the lodge. We cannot judge what may have went wrong with others, yet from our experience of staying here for days we can give a clear 5 star rating!l
Relaxed atmosphere, good value for money
