lovely welcome from the gorgeous staff at this hotel. room was perfect for our family of 4 - a bedroom on an upper level, a super comfortable Murphy bed and another comfortable sofa bed. extra bedding too if needed. (A duvet on the main bed). There are 2 bathrooms. A toilet downstairs and a full bathroom upstairs, with a great shower. There is a air conditioning which is perfect for the whole area. A small kitchen with a coffee machine and also a cooker. Plenty of room in a fridge/freezer. They provide a basket of towels for the pool. The breakfast was simple and delicious. It is served in the reception, but you could take it up to tables on the balcony or back to your room. Parking is spars and expensive in Leavenworth. The fact you can park close to the hotel is a big bonus! Location is exceptional.

The lodge is unique. Each room has a small deck on the back facing a cosy courtyard. Ours had really nice decor, two large Queen beds and a kitchenette area. It was really quiet. It is outside Leavenworth and out of the touristy bustle. The drive to and fro Leavenworth was enjoyable.

I expected a totally overdone, kitschy place, like Niagara Falls. Of course it was overdone, but just the right way. It was obvious everywhere in the downtown area that a lot of thought had gone into designing and maintaining this place, and I found that really impressive. Also, I was actually born and raised in Bavaria, which this place is supposed to emulate, and I think they did a reasonably good job at it.
Leavenworth is a wonderful Bavarian style town, So much to do and so much to see in the town but also in the surrounding areas. Lots of outdoor activities, hikes, walks, looking at the waterfall up on Steven's Pass, great food, great music, wonderful shops, wonderful friendfly people. Lots of snow in the winter and fantastic lighting for the holidays. So much more!
We loved just walking down Front Street, a pedestrian only area, looking at the great paintings and building designs. It's easy to walk around and see all of Leavenworth in one day, but we explored further along the river path, and hiking up Icicle Road. We ate at some good restaurants recommended by our hosts (Larch and the new Prusik) besides Cured for sausage and beer. Parking can be difficult, but if you are willing to walk a few extra blocks you can park for free. At night you can park behind the library and city hall for three hours.
Our stay in Leaven worth was sper of the moment. we were traveling and had found the little village when looking on the internet for ten things to do whilst in Seatle. We were charmed by this little village. The selection of food venus was good and the gardens and presentation of the area was clean and imaculately presented. I would say, suitible for the whole family. The river rafts looked like a fun activity for the kids.
The people were friendly. It was easy to get downtown as far as easy for me being handicapped. The sound of music player was phenomenal. It does need a little more handicap accessible area. A golf cart or a scooter for the last track up to the top of the amphitheater would have really helped. Thank goodness they were really kind souls around saying I was struggling and they gave me a hand as often as they could if you can’t get a golf cart then you need to hand railing everywhere.
The downtown street where all the shops are are now pedestrian only. Lots of good places to eat and nice gift shops. ... City could put out more benches along the sidewalks. We traveled with our dog and when we came to a shop that didn't allow pets, one of us had to stand outside to wait for the other. Not bad, if it was a short look, but particularly the Kris Krinkle shop is large, 2-story, so would have been nice to have somewhere to sit while I waited. Most of the shops, though, except for those that sold food or had lot of breakables, allowed the dogs in. Some even had signs that said they were pet-friendly..would be nice to have those signs outside ALL of the stores that allow pets
