Just 5 minutes’ walk from the Washington State Capitol, this Olympia hotel offers guest rooms with free Wi-Fi and serves a daily continental breakfast. The Port of Olympia is 7 minutes’ drive away. We arrived very early after a very rainy drive. The lady on reception was absolutely wonderful, she said we could check in straight away, gave us information on places to eat and what would be open for the time of year, so helpful. The room she gave us was fantastic, so large with a small kitchen area and a sitting room and large bedroom, some little chocolates, comfy bed and plenty of hot water which you don’t always get.

The woman who checked us in was a bit rude. Not our usual experience. Love our bartender Rachel! She was awesome and helped us understand why dinner and breakfast were not being served—kitchen was under construction. It helped us be patient. It opened and the food was very good! We love this hotel but always seem to have trouble with their heating system’s in our rooms. First time the heater didn’t work and they upgraded our room. Even in the upgraded room the heater would heat the room for 5 minutes but then blow cold air until the heat came back on. In this past visit we had the same issue. The hotel is located a short distance from downtown shopping and dining. Great shops! The beds are very comfortable and other than the heating issues we will continue to use this hotel when we come up to visit our granddaughter and her new family.
Olympia seems rather drab. There are a few interesting places, but the downtown is unattractive and the number of sketchy people on the streets seems disproportional to the size of the city. Olympia sits at the bottom end of Puget Sound where the water is kind of turbid, flat and sluggish. That's pretty much Olympia in a nutshell. People there like it, though.
I was in Olympia to attend a family member's memorial service which was emotionally draining and one did not appreciate dealing with problems at the motel. No coffee in the room and one had to walk a long hallway to bring 2 cups back and unlock the door. Bed was no level and one slept in a small hole which was difficult to roll out of uphill. No shelf in the bathroom on which to put necessities. Limited menu in dining room.
It's a beautiful area which is unfortunately, like much of America, rife with transients and mentally ill people. I took the opportunity to drive over to Bremerton and Port Angeles and it's very pretty in the area, although Bremerton is just another crowded, busy suburban place. The drive over the Hood Canal Floating Bridge afforded some breathtaking, scenic views and Puget Sound is quite magnificent.
This property is deteriorating, the staff is the only worthy thing about this hotel. It is grungy and poorly outfitted, the shower amenities are cheap. The restaurant menu is from a greasy spoon restaurant. The breakfast buffet is overpriced. There was no room cleaning on the weekends, the pool was closed. There are no lake view because the bushes obscure sight. Some balconies have dry rot.
I have a lot of problems with my legs and I placed my stay there because I was told they had a hot tub and I was very happy. When I got the none of the jets worked in it and I was told that they hadn't for a while. I would of stayed somewhere else if I was told the truth. I feel like I should get some kind of refund for my stay. It was hard enough on me to come from Kentucky to Seattle to bury my step-daughter. I look to hear from someone about this matter. Thanks, Vickie Dennis
Very pleasant staff. Got complementary breakfast for the first day. The hotel is old, but well maintained. Comfortable big bed. Very specious rooms.
Room was really clean and loved the layout. I loved hearing the pups in the hotel. I just love my own little paw babies and so glad you allow them in
Good environment nearby, it is alone the olympia port, where you can take a walk all the time with restaurants there. Their staff are nice and cute
The hotel is clean and comfortable with a friendly staff. Conveniently located in downtown so we can walk easily around. It was surprisingly quiet.
Hotel was clean, comfortable, and quiet. We were near the interstate, and could not hear the traffic. Beds were very comfortable.
Very clean and quiet room. Large bathroom. Thicker towels than most hotels. Extensive selection at buffet breakfast.
