Motel 6 Athens, hotel in Athens

Located off Interstate 75, this pet friendly motel offers free Wi-Fi and guest parking. Central Athens and Tennessee Wesleyan College are both 10 minutes’ drive away.

It has been refurbished, very modern & clean. All we needed for an overnight stay while traveling through. They did not have a breakfast which was fine with us but they did put out a 'coffee bar' to get you going. We were pleasantly surprised & booked based on others positive reviews. Will be staying here again as we're in the area several times a year & it is half the cost of where we have stayed before.

The pillows are amazing. The bed, ehh. I prefer a softer bed. But still you will get the best night sleep of your life. I love to relax in the tub and once you filled up the tub, it would immediately start draining. So I had to alternate between filling up the tub, draining it, filling it, and so forth. This is our second stay at this hotel. A great hotel.

Athens was a neat little city.

Athens was a neat little city. It reminded of other smaller cities in the U S. There is a country feel to it. We especially liked the Mayfield Dairy Welcome Center. The shakes were really good and they had a gift shop.

I love going to the walking track and been out in the nature. But if you come to ATHENS TN you need to check out the back road first the beautiful landscape just driven down the back roads. But also, just don't stay in Athens go to Spring City go up the mountain and look at that site and then you must go to Dayton TN and go to the pocket and go swimming you'll be in love. Also need to go eat at

We were confirmed at the Super 8, but when we arrived we were moved to the Days Inn because the Super 8 was under construction. There was a worker in the parking lot brandishing a handgun. I could not get my AAA discount because I had to book through them, not booking.com. There was no breakfast nor was there any compensation for the lack of breakfast. I have now had the worst cup of coffee in my life in the lobby.

It's a budget location for exploring East Tennessee, the Cherokee National Forest, trails for walking, waterfalls and heritage locations. Cleveland is a larger nearby city for services that Athens lacks. Then there is Chatanooga not so far away with Ruby Falls and Rock City among other attractions.

Ground floor room, clean and good heating and fridge and microwave. Liked the updated lights and bathroom mirror with a touch on/off on the mirror. Cool. Close to restaurants. Only charged $10 extra for our little dog. (Hampton Inn said they were pet friendly but charges $50 for a dog...what??)

When I arrived at the hotel there was a sign on the door saying that the clerk was working cleaning rooms and room 110. The clerk was working two jobs and I feel that that was very unfair for her. She was not able to give the best service possible because of that fact.
