Thing to remember is this is a resort with a european feel, not just a hotel to lay your head down for the night. If you are looking for a just a clean bed and continental breakfast this may not be your cup of tea. The facility is big, yet has a coziness to it. We loved the multiple small gathering rooms and nooks spread about the building with shelves filed with books, board games and puzzles. The property is huge, plenty of places to wander but also lots of hosted happenings. Loved the beer hall...they do a maple themed beer every year and it is very good. Staff is exceptional. they all seem to love working there. Highly recommend as a get away place.

I am not very good with follow-up reviews but I would never fail to say that we thought this place was a big cut above. The personal attention and warmth of the staff was very apparent and the room was very pleasant. There were so many touches that showed they really care about their resort and their guests. The bed was divine. And the gas fireplace was a treat, Thank you!!!
Stowe.... a skiers paradise. Cute downtown area, awsome skiing. Nice apres ski options. My wife and I attempt to visit every winter. The town offers a good variety of eateries, resturants stores etc. One tip though... try to book a hotel that offers breakfast. I honestly could not offer a recommendation on a sit down resterant for breakfast. Just my opinion.

Very small town. Grocery store is small and pricey.
Very small town. Grocery store is small and pricey. Shops are very pricey but lots of homemade items and boutique type places. Food is really good at the restaurants. Everyone is really friendly. Will I be back probably not, but not because it was bad just very slow paced not for me. Definitely out of a hallmark movie though!

You have to try jalapeno cheddar pancakes with maple syrup...
You have to try jalapeno cheddar pancakes with maple syrup and hollandaise sauce at the Butler's Pantry. Alchemist brewery is a must stop and Von Trapp Brewery and lodge grounds deserve a visit. Great place in the winter, if you like winter sports. But with all the natural beauty, it is worth a visit any time a year. Fall foliage is awesome to see in this area.

We love Stowe.
We love Stowe. We have been here many times starting over 50 years ago on our honeymoon!! The character of the town is just wonderful. This year they had a Halloween parade with the children of the town all dressed up!! It was charming! We will definitely be back!!

Stowe is adorable.
Stowe is adorable. The reputation it has as a fall foliage destination is well deserved. The little downtown is adorable and very walkable, the traffic wasn't great but we were able to find parking relatively easily. If visiting from out of town, you're going to want a rental car since many of the attractions are spaced miles apart. There are a ton of great food-related things to try near by. We really enjoyed the sugar houses (we saw Bragg Farm and Goodrich's Maple Farm and recommend them both - about 40ish minutes out of town), Cold Hollow Cider Mill, Cabot cheese shop, and Ben and Jerry's factory. We stopped at but didn't stay at the Trapp Family Lodge, which was well worth seeing. We did try the Trapp Kaffeehaus (which also serves their beer) which was great. If you like hard cider we also recommend Stowe Cider.

A quaint town set in the most picturesque location.
A quaint town set in the most picturesque location. The shops were attractive and there were plenty of places to eat. The nearby Von Trapp Family Lodge is well worth a visit. There is lots to do in the summer and the winter but we had not realised that most attractions and roads to mountain peaks would be closed from mid October until the ski season starts so we were caught in the middle of this time and had less open for our visit.
A friendly, family hotel in a great Stowe location. We stayed in a family room with a separate bedroom and bunk beds for the kids. The room was nothing fancy but met our needs very well. We appreciated the hot breakfast (not common in covid times!) with delicious scones and muffins too. Eating on the picnic tables by the river was a treat! Our kids enjoyed both the outdoor and indoor pools. The owners were super friendly and very helpful. Highly recommend!
Location is top! With its own spa, restaurant tennis and horse riding facilities . Great walk & bike path along the river takes you safely all the way to Stowe village. Highly professional, friendly, always eager to please staff.
Special thanks to chef Jose for the most creative ,delicious vegetarian pasta made for me.
5pm daily freshly baked cookies.Home away from home.
Kim and Phil, the hosts of Little River Inn are amazing. They took care of every need and the breakfasts, homemade every morning, are delicious. The lounge are with a tv, books and ample games was a perfect place to spend our evenings after a day of skiing. The hotel is right on the shuttle so very convenient as well.
Lovely location with several good restaurants and shops within an easy walk. Nice pool and outdoor area. A really helpful and kind Reception team who solved an issue for us. Loved the Stowe recreation walk and the drive up past the ski resort. Also had a nice trip to Burlington by the lake.
The hotel is located on the mountain road in Stowe and the bike/recreational path is easily accessible as are breakfast places, restaurants, etc. The pools/hot tub were clean and the right temperature. Everything was just a little better than I was expecting.
If you're looking to stay in Stowe, then this hotel is a great option because of its location and facilities. The pool area is very well maintained and a pleasant experience to sit back and relax. Many shops nearby to visit.
Great recently refurbished hotel, super friendly accommodating staff and the room was gorgeous, great amenities. Also perfect location for walking into Stowe for a meal in the evening.
The check in clerk was friendly and there was plenty of parking. We were in Stowe to visit family so thankfully we didn't have to stay long in the actual hotel.
