From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by this place and the hospitality.
The owner Justin greeted us warmly with a handshake, checked us in, and personally gave us a detailed tour of our room and all its amenities.
The room is spacious, extremely well-appointed, and very comfortable, with a gorgeous view. The grounds and surrounds are stunning, especially the beautifully serene pool area. Everything has been clearly well thought out -- an excellently managed place. We don't normally dine at our accommodations, but we made an exception here, and we were very glad we did -- the food was top notch. Breakfast was also really wonderful.
I can't say enough good things about this place!

Beautiful farm in a beautiful setting. Lovely friendly hosts. The bird life is incredible. They have lovely walks around the farm and we fell in love with the place.

We arrived on Good Friday of the Easter weekend and settled into our accommodation at Eikelaan Farm Cottages. Saturday was spent getting to know the history of Tulbagh at the Earthquake museum, old church & cemetery, and wandering down Church street admiring the restored old buildings. Rijk’s Wine estate just outside of town for lunch, and Daphne’s for dinner. Sunday we enjoyed lunch at The Tulbagh Boutique Hotel at their Olive Bistro restaurant. Great food & wine.

We loved the wine farms and visited several. The Valentine's Day dinner at Manley wine estate was excellent and the Tulbagh Hotel dinner was very good.
The museums in the historic street are really interesting
It is an easy area to get around, albeit always by car.
We would avoid staying in such rustic accommodation and choose a wine farm instead

Could have stayed for a week instead of a weekend. Fabulous staff at the Cape Dutch Quarter Hotel, such an eclectic mix of Georgian & old Cape Dutch buildings .....all connected by peaceful gardens & even a lovely pool. Our room was self catering but with so many great eateries/vineyards we didn't bother cooking ourselves!!!! Highly recommend

We expected to browse around small shops, but there were none. The most exciting shop was a Second hand store. Beautiful buildings, but that's about it. We went on a Wednesday and Thursday. Maybe weekends are better? Went to Saronsberg Winery, which was lovely. Perhaps to venture outside Tulbach is the way to go.

Tulbagh is a lovely little town, situated just 1.5 hours away from Cape Town. The town has a very artistic "vibe" to it with lots of lovely places to visit. The surrounding farmlands are beautiful, and it is also in the heart of Swartland wine-country. Tulbagh is a place I do enjoy visiting and will happily recommend it to travels, both foreign and local alike.
The cottage we stayed in was great! The location of the cottage was close to wine farms where we got to have a great wine tasting and we were served by wine maker, he was able to explain how the wine was made. We went horse riding on a beautiful farm and got to cool down in the beautiful swimming pool at the cottage. Was definitely a valentine's weekend away both me and my parter loved!
Will definitely recommend this as a vacation for anybody looking to have a relaxing and fun holiday 😀
The view, weavers singing in the reeds, swimming in the dam. Quiet, peaceful, rejuvenating experience. Thank you for a wonderful holiday and for the solar panels (no loadshedding). The farm is so close to a multitude of attractions including: Tulbagh museums, Dried fruit farms, Waterfalls, Hiking routes, Leather shoe factory shop, other Wine farms (and as a guest you get a free wine-tasting at Lemberg), Zipline and Togryersmuseum in Ceres, the exceptional Animal Rescue Farm.
This is a guest house we can recommend to any person looking for accommodation in Tulbagh. It is located in a quiet street but within easy walking distance to every tourist attraction and restaurant. The manager, owner and other staff are top class. The manager herself makes all the breakfasts and seeing that she is a chef, it is restaurant quality and served in a wonderful huge "farm" kitchen where you all sit around this massive wood table it makes for a great experience.
We booked a couple nights as we needed a location near to a venue for family friends wedding. The pricing was incredibly reasonable for the time of year and when we we arrived we were blown away by how stunning the house really was. Everything was spick and span, there were complementary fruit and eggs etc as it is located on a working farm. Furthermore our hosts were very gracious and welcoming. I would highly recommend L'Bloom to anyone looking for accomodation in Tulbagh
It is a beautiful property with some amazing historical pieces. The furniture and decor are beautiful and well preserved. The property is well located and Tulbagh is a very interesting little town with a lot of history. There is a lot to do. The owner of the hotel has gone to great lengths to provide a lot of interesting information about the history and the architecture of the surrounding buildings.
The location is perfect as usual...we've loved coming here over the years. The kids love the open space & the sheep & just exploring the farm. The cottage has everything we needed and was a lovely home away from home. We loved that we didn't have to experience loadshedding while we were on holiday as they have a backup generator :-) That was absolute magic :-)
Reflections Guest Farm will definitely see us again in the near future. Place was spotless and spacious and well equipped with everything you would need for your stay. The staff was very friendly and very helpful. My kids didn't want to leave. Really a home away from home. Well done and keep up the excellent work you guys are doing.
Lovely and peaceful farm stay. Little verandah overlooking the sheep and 2 little lambs in the paddock as well as horses. Tulbach is the perfect area to cycle from wine farm to wine farm. We were offered a late check out which was much appreciated and made all the difference to enjoy an "extra" day.
Facilities were self catering and therefore no breakfast was served. The location was perfect for us as it was very central to the places / areas we wanted to visit in the Tulbagh and surrounding areas. Really enjoyed swimming in the dam in the middle of a heat wave that hit the cape winelands.
We had a lovely stay at Tulbagh Hotel. The staff is great - very friendly and accommodating. The room was beautifully decorated and very comfortable and private (Honeybush Pool Room). We also had dinner at the restaurant which was very cosy and the food is delicious.
A gem of a hotel with over 200 years of history and within walking distance of everything you need in the heart of Tulbagh. Breakfast was home cooked and lovely. Our room was fairly basic but very comfortable, well heated and more than adequate for our weekend.
We liked everything, from the attitude and friendliness of the very helpful staff, the quality of the food on offer, the cleanliness of the whole place, to the quiet and peaceful atmosphere of the hotel. Our stay was very pleasant indeed.
Great accommodation, very neat and tidy. It has everything you need from a self catering cottage. Marileze was very helpful and was always available via Whatsapp. I will definitely go back, hopefully with better weather next time!
