Even though Ballyvaughan is small place, we were mesmerized by the landscape, environment and people, their kindness and hospitality. This is pretty much same in the whole Ireland. Very kind people, open and cheerful. Staff at the Hylands Burren was excellent, breakfast was very good. Darren is a great bloke and a fantastic cook and the breakfast featured a lot of his home made dishes. In fact the breakfast was simply superb. Our room was large, well furnished with a very wide bed, it also had tea making facilities and a coffee machine and fresh milk. We ate at Monks in Ballyvaughan in the evening which was fantastic. We had a great stay at Hazelwood Lodge, and would definitely return.

The decor inside was stunning and the spring beneath the hotel was a lovely feature. We received a very warm welcome from the hosts Maria and Wolfgang, who were ever so friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was amazing.
