Only 12 miles from Alta’s town center, along the Alta River, is where this special igloo hotel is located. The hotel was spectacular. We had the chance to view all the suites and they were all incredible. If you can splurge on the suite…do it! The art in the hotel is just incredibly creative and beautiful. Great, modern city with interesting architecture. Historically interesting, very good museum ( Gjenreisningsmuseet) about the town history and that of Finnmark, especially during and after the total destruction in World War II . Hurtigruta Harbour and apparently very busy airport. Surrounding nature is great.
Breakfast was just like I like it. Really good food. Had reindeer for dinner and it was just great. Easy access to the hotel and my room. Great experiences just outside the hotel, both with or without my camera. Steilneset Memorial commemorates the victims of the witchcraft processes in Finnmark was a special experience.
The hotel was simple but rather comfortable and clean. It's a convenient stop when travelling in Finnmark. I particularly appreciated all the COVID-19 related measures like stacking breakfast and dinner times etc.

I was very lucky with my room: I looked straight at the harbour and church from my bed. Free hot water and tea bags whenever needed. Otherwise everything was fine and kind of as expected for a big modern hotel - good wifi, friendly staff etc. The breakfast was nice. Location is brilliant, and I really liked Hammerfest, as it is not too small to be bored yet not as touristy/big as other towns in the North of Norway. I washed two items of clothing with the soap in the bathroom and they still smell nice even 4 days afterwards :)

This vacation was a once in a lifetime experience. The location was perfect to see the northern lights, the restaurant served food of the quality of a Michelin star restaurant, and the staff was extremely friendly. Even though the location was quite remote, there were plenty of activities to do. PS: it is also a great place to propose to your girlfriend - a guaranteed YES (from personal experience) :)
An extremely comfortable bungalow at the end of Europe. Nice bathroom, kitchenette, car park just in front. Reindeer grazing next to the car. The Nordkapp a stone's throw away. What more can a man want?
Visit end Sep 23. One of my top 3 hotels out of over 30 I stayed at during my 5 week trip in Norway. Beautiful location with exceptional rooms, spaces and the most helpful and friendly staff out of all the places I stayed. Amazing food and ambiance. Contemporary and eclectic. Will definitely be back!
