The room was lovely, the hotel all appears recently redecorated to a high standard. Bathtub was a good size and great power shower. Free WiFi included. Nice little village. Once they get the kitchen and bar open it will be brilliant/well worth the visit.

This was convenient for an overnight stay in the area at an attractive price. We were only looking for a bed for the night and this fitted th bill perfectly. The building is overdue a refurb as the were many plastic containers lying around to catch rainwater leaks (There is a lot of rain at the moment to make matters worse!). Staff were friendly and helpful. A good breakfast in the morning was helpful.
This location would be stunning during the summer months and give a good base for exploring the area.

It is a pretty village, quite spread out. There are so many interesting places to visit nearby, (including National Trust properties), and there are many lovely walks. I recommend a walk up Leith Hill, and Hannah Peschar Sculpture Garden.

If you drive you would like the drive to shalford from the b&b it goes throught tree lined roads going onto lovely villages where you can stop and look at the shops, when you get to shalford and its not your thing then travel on to guilford where you find what you are looking for.Good luck.
The service at the hotel was exceptional. The personnel are really friendly and helpful. We had our evening meal as well as breakfast at the hotel and the food was fabulous. Our room was small and very creaky and not to everyone's liking- not everyone could fit through the "Hobbitt Door", but it was very characterful and was clean and comfortable. There was no hairdryer, but I am sure I could have asked for one if this had been a real issue. We asked for more tea, coffee and milk for the room and it was no trouble.
We chose this hotel as it was in a convenient location, having spent the day at Beare Green for a relative's wedding. The hotel is very clean and tidy, the bed extremely comfortable and in a lovely room. The reception staff were so helpful and friendly, even after waiting for us to arrive past 11pm.
Not exactly bad but certainly areas to improve. I don’t want to be critical as you can see investment and it’s worth giving them the support. Parts of the hotel have had new carpets and fresh paint.
Breakfast food was very nice, shame not to have juices and pastries available to help yourself.
The location was wonderful amid open parkland and mature trees and old, sunken overgrown gardens. I don't like hotels that look the same as every other modern hotel. Gatton Manor is eccentric and eclectic. A mixture of modern and ancient, wild and over-tended. Long may it remain eccentric!
Food, first room was renovated and very clean and comfortable and the second room was not renovated but had a great aspect. 👌 Like most hotels renovation is ongoing. Beautiful grounds.
Plenty of parking spaces, quick and easy check in, friendly staff and really good food. Plenty of craft beers. Prices were reasonable, and the hotel was close to where I was working.
The food was good. The bed was comfortable and as we were at the back of the hotel it was very quiet.
Lovely garden to sit and have a drink or food in.
