The morning staff were friendly, thoughtful and helpful, the evening staff had the attitude of 'this is what it is, take it or leave it': unimpressive!
Set in the South Downs National Park, the Badgers Inn is just a 5-minute drive from Petworth village.

Accommodation excellent, supper and breakfast both excellent. It is the best place I have stayed in recent years perhaps since my last stay at Badgers 4 or 5 years ago.
Chequers Hotel is situated in the large village of Pulborough, on the edge of South Downs National Park. Free Wi-Fi is provided, as well as free on-site parking.

The spa facilities are excellent. Food at the restaurant was very good . I liked the information in the room -very rare these days
Conveniently placed on the A272 in the middle of Sussex countryside, this historic 5-star country inn encapsulates a balance between modern sensibility and rustic charm.
A very pretty market town in the heart of West Sussex.
A very pretty market town in the heart of West Sussex. Lots of upmarket places to eat and an exceptional deli. The town has easy access to Petworth House and Park, a beautiful National Trust property with stunning interiors and fabulous walks. There are many antique shops, interiors shops and some smart boutiques, and the excellent Newlands Gallery, which curates terrific exhibitions - really first class. The combination of country and tiny town (more of a large village, really) is enchanting. It's the perfect place for a weekend break.

Great place to visit, huge amount of artwork and statues although the lighting did make it difficult to appreciate the paintings to their full glory. The grounds had lots of areas to walk through and a day of sunshine made it more enjoyable

Excellent and faultless on all aspects.
Excellent and faultless on all aspects. A traditional B&B as I remember them from years ago. If you're hesitating whether to book Kilsham Farm don't, just do it, you won't be disappointed.

Good hosts, lovely shepherds hut wonderful views.basic washing facilities but adequate for the short stay. Ordered takeaway from Petworth and we agreed it was the best Indian food we have had. Local town is lovely antiques shops galore! Took trip to arundel which is close an also beautiful.
The location was great as we were visiting Petworth house just a couple of miles away ( great place to visit ). Jules was a very welcoming hostess and the cooked breakfast was great. We had dinner both nights we stayed and the food was delicious, we arrived sunday afternoon and found the last car parking space as the pub was full to the rafters with sunday lunch diners, always a good sign when lots of diners are in. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be returning when we visit Tangmere RAF museum.
The food was mediocre but the staff was lovely, they accommodated my dog for extra money but I had to bring my own dog bed. The room was nice but it seemed a little over priced. It stated that the rooms had patios which I wanted for my dog but only 2 or 3 rooms do and we didn’t get one although I should have confirmed by phone what I wanted so that was my fault. No great dog walks from there but close to Petworth which was nice.
We recently enjoyed a stay at The Cricketers’ Arms Inn at Duncton. Our accommodation was on the ground floor in a delightful stone converted barn, and the staff were most welcoming, so obliging and helpful. Breakfast in the traditional dining area was excellent and served to us by friendly staff. The location was very good for walks through fields which my husband thoroughly enjoyed. A most pleasant stay. Thankyou.
Great location for nearby attractions, ie. Petworth House (short walk) Pulborough Brooks (RSPB reserve), 10 mins. Staff were all friendly helpful and efficient. The food was very good including the cooked breakfasts and dinner menu if a little light on Veggie and vegan offers. The garden was spaceous and very nicely laid out. The inn itself is characterful reflecting its age but with all modern comforts.
Beautiful 400yo cottage, wonderfully refurbished. Super comfy, spotlessly clean, really stylish. Every bedroom has an en suite. Great location right in the middle of Petworth, moments away from shops and places to eat, as well as Petworth House/Park. Private parking for one car right outside (quite tight but we made it in our family car). Our little dog was very comfortable too ☺️
The breakfast was exceptional all produce of a high quality and cooked to perfection. As we stayed two nights we also chose to have two evening meals both of which were of a high standard. Lovely room in a renovated barn to the side of the pub. Staff could not do enough for you. There is a lovely garden area to the rear.
Our room was in the converted barn and was absolutely wonderful. The Landlady and staff were very friendly and the food was delicious, both evening and breakfast. Highly recommend The Cricketers if you are looking for a lovely relaxing stay and also very convenient for Petworth National Trust.
We were made very welcome and shown to the room in the farmhouse which was very comfortable with a generous and modern en-suite.
We drove to Petworth for an evening meal.
The bed was very comfortable.
The breakfast really excellent.
The location was wonderful, the staff extremely friendly and considerate and the bar area and outside terrace were homely and extremely well decorated! The room was pristinely clean too! The wine was very good and the food better!
The property was cosy, well equipped and very clean. There was a lovely seating area outside, with the bonus of a summer house. It's in the centre of Petworth with easy parking, ideal for browsing the independent shops.
The breakfast was excellent, the hosts were outstandingly helpful and kind. The property is in the middle of the countryside, easy to get to , yet very good for walking or visiting Petworth. I would highly recommend it.
very central location and with a big car park right at the rear of the property. Short level walk to everything in Petworth including the lovely Petworth House. Lots of good restaurants and interesting little shops.
Almost everything. Lovely place, quite and friendly owners. Close to Petworth by walking through the park.
