It was evident that some staff really enjoy their job - as they were very friendly, yet professional and accommodating. The room was beyond beautiful and comfortable and it was nice to have the amenities of a smart TV. The room had a lovely balcony and a very nice view of the gardens and lake. The evening meal and breakfast were beyond delicious - absolutely excellent. And although it was very cold, getting a dip in the lake was definitely memorable.

Location was great, nicely renovated property, well set up system. The terrace would have been great if the weather would have allowed it. Also communication with the owner was very good when we needed to leave our luggage there in our last day.

The bedroom is very large with a tv & comfortable bed, places to sit etc,it's a shame there wasn't a large mirror over the vanity unit in bedroom as my wife struggled to put any make up on using the beautiful ornate small mirror that was on the unit itself.
All the rooms were kept at a really warm temperature really nice.again a special shout out to the staff who cleaned the suite to an extremely high standard.
Breakfast was beautiful a real treat.

Windermere is very small and pretty, but you're better off going to Bowness if you want all that *plus* the views. Windermere was quieter than Bowness though, which makes it a great place to stay over if you're travelling to more touristy places nearby in the daytime. There is an amazing gift shop in Windermere on the corner, and the Tapas restaurant looked great, even though we didn't get time to eat there. The park on Park Road was lovely for dogs and kids, and big enough to have a proper walk around.

An average selection of shops and bars/restaurants.
An average selection of shops and bars/restaurants. Bowness-on-Windermere is approx 1 mile away, this has a better choice of bars/shops/restaurants. The bus station in Windermere is located near the main road entrance. Bus trips are currently £2 per person each way (April 2024) and we decided to travel by bus to Keswick and enjoy the stunning scenery, and no expensive parking charges. Will definitely be going back to Windermere.

I have fallen in love of Windermere.
I have fallen in love of Windermere. I love hiking and nature and this place have everything you need to hike for days, do cycling and much more. Ideal for solo travelers or to visit with family and dogs. I will probably repeat the experience but in summer as some trails are better done with sun conditions /dry paths. There are lots of nice places and different restaurants in Bowness with fantastic food to enjoy. I would really recommend Windermere and closer villages like Grasmere / Ambleside for anyone wanting to spend some days surrounded by nature.

First of all do not book this property with breakfast included. You basically just pay too much for toast and butter! Nearby town has very nice cafes. Also make sure your room is not damped like our’s was! It was unbelievable!
They never cleaned our room and had to ask four times for fresh towels! The location is very nice but unfortunately the quality of the hotel has dropped significantly since last time we stayed in it! It was a huge disappointment.

Visiting the lake and taking trips around it on boats was fun. There are a lot of restaurants and bars to visit.
Apart from visiting the lake and eating out at restaurants there isn't that much to to do.

Windermere is a beautiful place very picturesque and plenty to enjoy on your stay I could highly recommend a walk into Bo'ness and having a look around the many shops on offer the church in particular is a peaceful place, then if your after a good pint the whole in the wall offers a high standard of pint 😀
Pamela put up with our messages as we worked with the train strike to get there. She greeted us with delicious homemade shortbread and coffee. Breakfast was very good every day we were there. Wait staff were so sweet and helpful to us. The room was clean and comfortable. The blackout drapes were especially appreciated in the room, since the sun rises early in June. The place is centrally located for both Windermere and Bowness. There is a bus stop just down the hill that is easy to get to.
It was a lovely clean room. Everything we needed. Nice spacious bathroom. They go the extra mile in their welcome pack, which has everything you need to know about the hotel facilities aswell as a long list of cafes and restaurants in Windermere. We met them at check in and check out, and they were lovely. Willing to do what they could to make our stay better. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
The views were incredible, we were blessed with sunny weather and really enjoyed the terrace and our time in the outdoor hot tub admiring our surroundings. Special mention to the bar man who was a good laugh,, didn't catch his name but he was Lithuanian. Really chilled vibes at the hotel making us feel really comfortable. Free parking was also a major bonus
Absolutely everything about this property was perfect. It’s perfectly located between Windermere and Bowness on Windermere making it easily accessible on both sides. It’s a couple of minutes from bus stop. The rooms are spacious and very English. The people running the place are really friendly, helpful and cheerful.
Excellent room overlooking Lake and fells. Lovely welcome from Debbie who gave us a personalised check in at the Winander Club. Staff in bar/ restaurant “W” were fantastic. Food excellent. Pool and indoor spa was nice. Clean and not overly busy. Birthday cards and balloons from the hotel made it special.
Breakfast was exceptional. The room was large, warm and cosy. The hotel is well situated as a ten minute walk in either direction and you were either in Bowness on the lake or in the town of Windermere. The 'front of house' greeting, particularly from Liam, was excellent.
Wonderful stay . Staff are just lovely dog friendly hotel.. loved it .. obviously rooms are basic and need updating but it doesn't alter how lovely this hotel is thank you.. breakfast was yum too great location to Windermere pubs restaurant and shopping.
The hotel was in an ideal location mid way between Windermere and Bowness and within walking distance of both. The Honey suite was excellent with an indoor spa bath and outdoor jacuzzi. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We will be back.
The proprietors are lovely people and very accommodating, the room and en-suite were spacious and very comfortable. The Breakfast was good and had a decent choice, and the hotel is situated just a stones throw from the centre of Windermere
The hotel was only a 2 minute walk to Windermere. 20 minute walk into Bowness on Windermere. Lots of bars and restaurants nearby. Breakfast was lovely, large portions. Lovely staff.
Bed was very comfy. Overall, a really lovely stay.
The location was great between Bowness and Windermere. Room cosy, breakfast fantastic. B&B with Spa/gym/swimming pool. All immaculately clean. Friendly knowledgeable staff could not do enough to guarantee a great break.
