breakfast was good, good vegetarian options. the restaurant itself was amazing, great vegan and veggie options comparing to the rest of zanzibar. the staff was outstanding, always something happening at the hotel- helped us celebrate important occasions in an unforgettable way!! female owned hotel and female-led which is always appreciated by me. overall, great experience. The spa was amazing, massages on a very high level with incredible view. Quiet beach with security, felt extremely private.

They strike the perfect balance of kindness and respect, giving you space to relax while still making you feel looked after in every detail. I visited with my 3‑year‑old daughter, and she was treated like royalty. The team welcomed her with so much warmth and patience, making her feel like a little princess—which as any parent knows, makes all the difference. The food was beyond amazing: fresh seafood that melts in your mouth, perfectly brewed coffee, fresh‑baked breads, pancakes, and an array of dishes prepared with love. Every meal was bursting with flavor and far more reasonably priced than most of the island. Breakfast alone could win awards for how fresh and comforting it is. The property itself is peaceful, serene, impeccably clean, and beautifully designed. It has this effortlessly chic yet chill vibe that instantly puts you at ease. Add in the breathtaking view and the calm, respectful atmosphere, and you have the perfect setting to truly unwind. We spent five nights here and I could have chosen any hotel on the island—but I am so glad I chose this one. Alin and Ana are absolute gems, making it their mission to turn their guests’ dreams into reality. I would return again and again because this isn’t just a stay—it’s an experience you carry with you long after you’ve left. Incredible staff, comfortable and clean facilities, large bedrooms with AC and fans, good food at very decent prices, and situated on a beautiful, calm tidal beach. Massages on site were amazing. It’s a truly relaxing place as the area is still not as developed as other parts of Zanzibar.

We really enjoyed our stay at AVO Boutique Hotel. The beach right below the hotel was calm and beautiful – the perfect place to unwind away from the crowds. Our room was comfortable and always clean. One of the highlights was the food – every meal was delicious, so much so that we didn’t even bother eating anywhere else! The owner and the team were all super kind and welcoming, always ready to help with a smile. It’s a quiet, cozy place with great vibes – we can't recommend it enough :)

    Truly enjoyed the pristine beach and the laid back nature of the place. Totally enjoyed several meals at Fish Restaurant which were absolutely delicious. I tried Kingfish, Changu, Perch, White Snapper, Prawns etc. The seafood was phenomenal. We also enjoyed seeing the turtles and the artwork at several curio shops. Also enjoyed an early morning boat ride seeing the dolphins. I can't believe how fast time went by. Looking forward to visiting Zanzibar again.

    Activities are great but most places are teeming with tourists. It's probably better to be taken for activities privately (price will be about the same anyways). Better to book through existing tour operators because the freelance guides always add extra onto the price. Night Food market is a must but be careful not to be ripped off, they just handed you plates of food & then charged a ridiculous amount afterwards. Cape Town Fish Market is a must for a sunset dinner. Prison Island & Nakupenda was average, they were overrun with people. The Spice Farms & Slave Chambers are a must to understand the passed history & Coral Caves have stunning natural pools to swim in deep underground. The North has Mnemba Island, great for snorkeling. The East is windy & good for Kite Surfing. The South is supposed to be good for deepsea fishing but myself & another group only caught white Snapper, no Game Fish.

    Jerry is a wonderful Location next to the beach.

    Jerry is a wonderful Location next to the beach. We stayed there for 4 days and enjoyed it The staff was very helpful and supportive. The rooms are nice and clean. And Jambiani is a nice and quiet place to stay. Next time I would go there again.

    Kiwengwa is a perfect place to spend time with the family. Exquisit nature, kind people and the best food. Boat trips, beach activities, village strolls, getting to know the culture of local people who are very knowlegeable about the natural agriculture and extreemly kind and nice. We loved every minute of our stay at Kiwengwa.

    Matemwe is ideal for relaxing and spending quality time with friends and family. Matemwe is near Mnemba island 🏝️ for swimming with dolphins 🐬 . We rode bicycles 🚲 around the village and the place felt very safe. There are few alternative places for lunch or dinner. Not too far from stone town.

    The location is great, just a minute from the ocean, there are a lot restaurants both expensive and very local ones, no issues with electricity, hot shower and air-con and the safe box. Card and cash payment is acceptable. Very safe to stay and walk around even at night, the owner is very kind and trustworthy. Very basic breakfast but it OK, no TV and fridge in the room, internet is breaking so often especially in the room, but it works perfectly at the balcony. It is very budget friendly and highly recommend it.

    This is not a touristy location... it is off the beaten track... a village, by the sea, with an increasing number of resorts being added. I hope it does not lose its charm to the crowds. This is a quiet, special place.

    Michamvi is good for relaxing and enjoying . There are few vendors and they are not disturbing you and friendly. We stayed 25 days at Kikoi Boutique Resort and arranged all excursions on Zanzibar as well as a Safari with Sir Alex at Kikoi for reasonable prices and with good service . Their Cook Mister Mahaveer Sing is a real Master Chef and we enjoyed every meal he prepared us . Compliments to all the people working there. You made our stay unfogettable.
