Everything!! This hotel is clearly the best one that we had in Zanzibar! Direct access to the beach, the swimming pool on the rooftop is amazing and very clean! It exceeded our expectations. The place was extremely clean, the rooms were as per the photos here. There was no Electricity in Stone house but they did have in their place. The staff were friendly and very nice. I can't remember the gentleman's(night shift guy) name but he helped us carry our bags as we were heading to Nungwi. The place was a bit hard to find but its only 3 minutes from the ferry.

It's not what you see on social media! don't think it's only beach, resort and good life. just when you leave your hotel you'll see the local poor people on the street, out of their houses, working, and doing their things! we learned a lot from everyone of these people, we learned that happiness has nothing to do with money and luxury life, we learned that you can find it everywhere, just open your eyes and look on the right direction! thank you people of zanzibar

Stone Town completely exceeded my expectations and became...

Stone Town completely exceeded my expectations and became one of my favorite destinations in East Africa. Every corner is filled with history, culture, and beautiful Swahili architecture. My favorite spots were the narrow winding streets of Stone Town, the lively Forodhani Gardens, the Old Fort, the House of Wonders, and the stunning waterfront where you can watch traditional dhows sailing at sunset. I stayed at Treasures of Zanzibar House, which was perfectly located within walking distance of all the major attractions. The rooftop breakfast was one of the highlights of my trip. Enjoying fresh tropical fruits, authentic Swahili dishes, and freshly brewed coffee while overlooking the historic town was simply unforgettable. I also enjoyed several local restaurants near the seafront, where I tasted delicious seafood, Zanzibar pizza, and traditional Swahili cuisine. Getting around Zanzibar City is very easy. Most attractions in Stone Town are within a few minutes' walk of each other, making it perfect for exploring on foot. The streets are safe, vibrant, and full of interesting shops, markets, and friendly locals. For longer distances, taxis are readily available and affordable. As a solo traveler, I never felt bored. There are plenty of exciting activities to enjoy, including walking tours through Stone Town, visiting Prison Island to see the giant tortoises, relaxing at Nakupenda Sandbank, taking a sunset dhow cruise, exploring local spice farms, shopping for souvenirs, and meeting fellow travelers in the many cafés and rooftop restaurants around town. What made my experience truly special was the warmth and hospitality of the people. The staff at Treasures of Zanzibar House went above and beyond to make me feel welcome. Their friendliness, local knowledge, and attention to detail made my stay unforgettable. I highly recommend Stone Town to anyone looking for a unique blend of culture, history, adventure, and relaxation. I cannot wait to return!

absolutely stunning maze of small streets and magic.

absolutely stunning maze of small streets and magic. business folks are hungry for tourists at starvation levels which makes walking around a challenge and steals the peace. check out cafe africano. karafu. so easy to get around on foot or Bajaji for longer journeys. put your phone in your pocket and just get lost in the maze. its not huge so impossible to get too lost. if you go in circles someone will kindly rescue you. welcoming friendly local community. mind getting fleeced like all tourist cities. you should go.

Lovely architecture, but the Sultan's Palace, the fortress...

Lovely architecture, but the Sultan's Palace, the fortress and House of Wonders were all closed. This was disappointing because these were the major reasons for visiting. Lots of touts approaching you and trying to get you to buy tours and tat. Very annoying.

The beaches in Bwajoo ware clean , private and calming. The rich culture of Stone Town was interesting. So many places to visit and learn about the past of Africa and Humans. Slave Market, Prison island, Spice Farms, Beach life.......all in one island. The distinct difference with the fast life in other places was significant

Lots to see and do but you don't need too many days. Air con not very cool, temperatures hot and sticky. Very interesting historically, good restaurants, lovely sunset. Gorgeous beaches on the east coast - staying on one of them with slightly better air con or a great fan might be the ticket. Or exploring the north after Zanzibar City ...

The place is very nice, good location (near to local shops), and the staff is friendly. It is a shame the beach is polluted, there is a lot of broken glasses on the beach which makes dangers to walk in a beautiful area. There few miscommunication with staff regarding service but nothing that would compromise your stay, we had a local taxi well arrange for transferring to the airport. I liked the flexibility to make payment (cards or cash or both). There were few adorable stray cats, so beautiful creatures, I wish they were better looked after.
