Really Beautiful property and amazing, hospitable staff. Went out of their way to make our stay an enjoyable experience.
Rooms are simple and clean. Not a fancy place but really nice - great beds and super water pressure.
Breakfast was a delight and the prices are great!
Definitely recommend this location. Lots of space for the kids to run around. Didn’t use the salt pool but hope to the next time.

The apartment was clean and perfectly located on the square across from the church. The beds were comfortable and the apartment was quiet. Getting checked in was really easy.
Offering a quiet setting in Maià de Montcal, La Fustana features spacious rooms with terraces. It is housed in a modern building, constructed from recycled materials and wood from local forests.

It's a wonderful little place and I'm sure there's more to explore than we saw. Just one tip: the churches seem to be accessible by appointment only (one can only peek in through glass at the entrance), which is a pity because there are some wonderful, very old ones. If I were to go next time, I'd arrange with the tourist office to visit them. The Tourist Office were wonderful about helping us see the mikveh and I'm sure they'd be just as great about l letting us visit the churches, but we should have arranged it in advance.

Picturesque Besalú works as a short visit, there is lots to see but it can be done pretty quickly. The medieval centre and bridge are a great explore but it's also set in great scenery and the views as far as the pyrenees add grandeur. There are routes to follow or just chill in one of the cafés dotted around the plazas.

Besalu is a beautiful small town that can be visited in one day. The old city has several interesting monuments and medieval architecture. It is a great place if you enjoy taking pictures. The best location to stay is the Hotel Els Jardins de la Martana which is located just in front of the old bridge which takes you into the old town. An interesting village not too far that is worth a visit is Santa Pau with a stop at Istany Banyoles (Lake) on the way back.
What we found very disappointing was the fact that on the two days of our stay all the restaurants (about 15 of them) were closed while the various websites still showed businesss as usual. For a town that wants to promote tourism it is shameful not tom have a single restaurant open for dinner.

Shops all closed when the tour busses left, but were open the next morning. Great little midievil town with great views. Not much choice of dinner venues until 8 pm (typical of Spain ), but we found a great pizza place earlier. Very walkable town, but a bit crowded when busses appear.

Besalu is a charming town to walk around.
Besalu is a charming town to walk around. Not big but enough to wander about comfortably. During the day there are lots of places to eat, nighttime the choice is limited ( we were there mid September).
Beautiful property and very welcoming and helpful staff. The apartment we stayed at was cozy and had gorgeous views. The beds and pillows were really comfortable, the shower had great water pressure and it was all clean and new! we had breakfast and dinner at the restaurant and really recommend it! everything was delicious! the area is so peaceful and calm and just a short car ride away from Besalú. We had a wonderful stay and will be back in the future!
What didn’t we like! Absolutely stunning hotel in a very peaceful location. The hosts were very accommodating and friendly. Gorgeous room overlooking the grounds and terrace. We had breakfast outside and were treated to local cheeses and meats, breads and pastries. The hosts couldn’t do enough for us. Only a couple of minutes out of town where there were plenty of restaurant options (hotel restaurant currently has limited opening times)
The place is located amazingly, right in the center of Besalu and just a few steps from the main square of the town. Several options to eat out around the apartment, we really liked the pizza place just around the corner. Easy check-in. The flat itself is very nice and has two terraces, one of which is a rooftop terrace from where you have a nice view over the town.
Cannot say enough good things! Absolutely loved this hotel. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Location at the foot of the iconic bridge is unbeatable. Hotel retains the character and beauty of the original house while providing modern comforts like coffee and mini bar in the room. Free parking is the cherry on top!
Besalu is a beautiful medival village. Casa Marcial has a garden and pool with a gorgeous view. Step outside the front door and wander through the village and discover romantic Spain. The hotel has special touches that make it a place you will want to return to again and again.
The host Ellen-Marie was very friendly and helpful, we really thank her for all the support and kindness.
The location is very good, close to Besalù but in the quiet countryside.
Room was cozy and clean, breakfast was terrific and the facilities outside were also excellent.
Very nice apartment in the centre of the beautiful old town of Besalu, with car parking in an integral garage. Simply furnished but very comfortable with central heating for the chilly nights in February and a washing-machine. Super friendly very accommodating host.
Loved the layout of the apt and the beautiful view of the old tree in the square.
Besalu is beautiful and the apt is too!
Also customer service was great - quick responses to any questions I had. Great since I'm not from the country to feel more secure.
Fantastic location in the heart of medieval Besalú, the apartment is finished to a high specification and very comfortable. The support from Natalia was excellent and overall our stay was made super easy and convenient.
Fantastic old building right across Besalu's famous bridge. Plenty of parking nearby. Extremely friendly staff at reception and also the breakfast area. Breakfast can be taken on a large terrace outdoors.
Great hotel conveniently located near the main attractions of the town. The rooms were large and comfortable. The breakfast was sufficient and the hotel had a great terrace to enjoy.
