Located just 3.1 mi from Perpignan Airport, B&B HOTEL PERPIGNAN Nord Aéroport offers a terrace with garden furniture, a 24-hour front desk and free WiFi access. Very friendly staff, we asked our two rooms to be one near another to be able to open the door between, and they satisfied our request. And since our latest visit in 2021 there appeared new McDonalds near the hotel, so we were able to have supper there.

Location is in a very narrow street and, although parking is possible outside the property, it is a squeeze. The interior of the property was clean and tidy. Although a bottle opener/corkscrew was missing. Value for money on a one night transient stay in the middle of the season.

The hotel was clean and well kept, but a bit on the small side. The breakfast was adequate, but the bathroom was really small, if you were overweight you would certainly struggle to get into the seperate toilet!! The towels were very small also, but for the price we were paying it would be churlish to complain.

For some reason, Perpignan's reputation is not near what...
For some reason, Perpignan's reputation is not near what it offers for the tourist or traveler. It is a beautiful city with awesome bus services and excellent train service. It is surrounded by ancient villages (almost all are accessible by local bus or 1 Euro train trips) and many interesting sites. The beaches are also within a 30 minute bus ride and are wide and gorgeous. There are also many wineries in the area from old barn like structures to modern facilities with a great selection of wines to suit any palette. We loved a number of restaurants including Aldo's and Mistinguett with favorite bars being Les Platanes and Les Halles Vauban Market Bar. If you use the city bus line (Sankeo), pay attention to the daily vs Saturday and Sunday schedules and school holiday schedules (Saturday schedule all week)

The rooms are old and dated. The aircon doesn’t work very well and the windows have locks on them. The room was hot and stuffy. The ibis rooms are accessed via the Novotel. Apart from the reception and dining area it all looks a bit shabby.

Historical castle with old town.
Historical castle with old town. Quiet provincial French town with an interesting looking medieval heart that is undergoing restoration. We walked around Perpignan, well signposted. The locals are friendly and helpful. We ate at a restaurant close to the train station the food was tasty and reasonably priced. The Pizza place close to town was a bit more expensive but food was tasty and staff helpful. The dinner at The Steakhouse was food but quite expensive again the staff were helpful and friendly.

Like many visitors to the town, we were drawn to the town by the chance to watch the Catalans Dragons rugby league club play at Stade Gilbert Brutus. However, there is so much more that the town has to offer travellers. The town centre is crammed with beautiful architecture, quirky shops, bars and cafes and lots of history. Meanwhile, for just a euro you can catch a forty minute bus down to the coast (we chose Collioure). A brilliant trip whether visiting with family or friends. We will definitely be back soon.
