Everything in Trujillo is wonderful. The old mediaeval city, where all tourists stay, has accommodation for all budgets, and it's all good. The city is small and perfect for strolling around in cobbled streets. If you have a car stay on the outer roads because the city streets are really narrow. There are regular coaches from Madrid throughout the day, and one each day from Barcelona. Cáceres, 45 minutes away has lots of coaches to every Spanish city, and to Lisbon in Portugal , plus a mainline railway station. This was Spain's capital after the Conquistadors were in Mexico and Peru. Many Spanish people consider it to be the most beautiful of their cities - quite a claim since Spain has the highest number of UNESCO cities in the world @15. The restaurants are ALL astonishingly good, all on the Plaza Mayor or streets off it, with fabulously presented food. Classics and modern Gastronomía at mid level cost. The smaller cafés all offer brilliant Spanish breakfasts and cakes at excellent prices. The whole region offers some of the best birdwatching, walking trails and landscape photography in Europe. Other marvellous cities that are 1 or 2 hour drives include Plasencia, Cáceres and Merida. It's also perfectly possible to visit Portugal for the day from here.

We loved Trujillo.
We loved Trujillo. Beautiful historical buildings all located within east reach of the plaza. Plenty of very good restaurants and tapas bars. Not crowded unlike places such as Toledo and Cordoba. Very good tourist office. One of our favourite places to visit in Spain alongside Seville. Because Trujillo is located in Extremadura and is quite remote it hasn’t been spoilt and overrun with tourists.

Considering its relatively low position in the guidebooks, then Trujillo is a real gem. It has such a lot to offer - more than one would think. The old town, alleyways and streets, numerous churches and other fine buildings are beautiful. There isn't a lot of choice for eating in the town - the options in the main square do tend to be higher priced and aren't great value for money really, compared to other Spanish towns of the same size. But Trujillo itself for its historical significance should be visited by more people than it apparently does have.

Fantastic city with plenty of historical monuments (monasteries, churches, muslim castle) and people (conquistadores).
I would strongly recommend travelers to stop 1 or 2 days to discover this wonderful typical historical Spanish town with lots of history

A beautiful town filled with palaces that were the homes to the conquistadores of Peru and Brazil. The castle high on the rock above the town was particularly spectacular. Wonderful church was a Historic Monument in itself. Impressive statues in Plaza Mayor was the icing on the cake.
Alejandro before arriving sent through helpful information about Trujillo. He was very responsive and helpful to any messages sent. The apartment was spacious over three floors with good furnishings and equipment. It was very convenient to get to the local Plaza Mayor but it was set in a quiet and peaceful location where the bird chorus at the break of dawn was a joy to hear. The Monfrague National Park is only an hour away.
If you are looking for a simple base when going birding in Extremadura and don't want to ruin your budget, this is a good choice. Nothing fancy but nice and clean with a very friendly staff. The hotel is well situated as a starting point for your daily excursions and if you have not already eaten when returning to the hotel, the restaurant serves quite good food at a very fair price.
The location and the staff. The palace is very charming located right in the heart of the old town. If you love reading, this could be you spot. There are many books at the hotel. It is just a few steps to the cathedral and the castle. Anna and her husband were very friendly and helpful. Thank you for having us. We wish we could stay longer. Till next time, take care and stay safe.
The hotel is an old convent and is spacious and comfortable, in a great position for walking around the wonderful old town. The staff were friendly and helpful - even helping us find Rugby World Cup games!
Parking was easy. The room was large with a comfortable bed and lovely linen.
Trujillo is certainly worth a visit
The apartment was spacious and comfortable. Within easy walk of the centre of Trujillo, perhaps 15 mins. Supermarkets nearby. Owners were helpful. Everything in the aprtment that we could possibly need and more. Sadly we didnt get to use the outside space due to the weather but that's not their fault :o)
Beautiful hotel that made you feel special. Secure undercover parking was an absolute asset, as street parking was non-existent. The tariff, which included breakfast, was unbelievably cheap given the quality of the hotel. Short walk to the town square topped off an excellent stay.
Great place for travelling to Trujillo with a pet. They have a big, fenced garden you can let your pet in when he is tired to go with you around. The house is comfortable, with a big living room and comfortable beds. Very clean and tidy.
Short 10 minute walk to sights in Trujillo. Excellent breakfast in restored chapel of the former convent. Parking 15 euros in their garage or 12 in parking lot outside of the garage. Comfortable rooms.
Casa Cancho is very nicely refurbished and is in a superb location to explore Trujillo from. Alex was very fast with communication and helped us with Somme queries we had during our stay.
A very old house transformed into a hotel with good sized rooms as well as bathroom containing everything, located very near to the main square and does offer private parking,
Location, close to the historic center of Trujillo with easy access to parking nearby places. The historic building is beautiful and is part of the great legacy of Trujillo.
Location, location, location! Wander through the wonderful streets of Trujillo from the front door. The owner was very responsive. The unit is cozy and charming.
The historical building has a very good restoration and very well adapted to hotel. The cloisters is amazing. It was a pleasant stay. The staf was kind.
