The Hotel Albarragena, set in a late 18th-Century house, offers a delightful space next to Plaza Santa Clara and the old quarter of the city ideal to explore Cáceres. Juan is an excellent host; he is friendly and informative about the area. The room was so much more than we expected that I would give the hotel 4 or 5 stars instead of 3. It was spacious, the bed was very comfortable, and the air conditioning worked perfectly. We loved the terrace and the jacuzzi bath was so relaxing after a day of walking around the city. The hotel was right in the middle of the historic area.
Located in a quiet and pretty residential area of Cáceres, this elegant hotel offers free Wi-Fi and chic rooms. The outdoor pool is set within gardens. Great hotel that clearly focuses on making sure their client service exceeds expectations! Incredible attention to details...
This beautiful converted 16th-century palace is located in the historic center of Cáceres, next to the city’s ancient Roman and Arab walls. Everything was absolutely devine! Everyone was so friendly and helpful, especially Raúl who greeted us and made sure our stay was perfect . We are travelling with two older women and they did everything to accommodate all their needs and had fulfilled all of my requests (handicap rooms, easy access and some special dietary needs). Make sure to book with breakfast, as it is very, very nice! The beds were very comfortable, the rooms were very spacious, the shower was ample and easy to use, and there were many outlets in the room. The hotel does have a few stairs to get to and from the elevators, but everyone was very kind and very quick to help us whether we were alone or with our luggage. It is absolutely worth it to stay here.

The renovation of the property by architects Tuñon Alvarez & Moreno Mansilla creates and environment that is harmonious and tranquil, punctuated by an exquisite art collection. This hotel is the epitome of simple and unencumbered luxury. Breakfast was exquisite....you can have a continental breakfast with delicious breads and homemade butter & jams, with freshly squeezed orange juice great coffee, tea or hot chocolate. Also offered is a mini- tasting menu with bellota ham small sandwich, and other unexpected delicacies including the traditional Migas taken to a gourmet level, which are a must-have according to Conde Nast Magazine. Set in a 14th-century stone palace, Parador de Caceres includes original features, such as vaulted ceilings and antique furnishings. It is an actual palace inside a walled world heritage city. The restaurant is excellent.
This good-value hotel offers free Wi-Fi access in public areas and free private parking on site. Each spacious room at AHC has a plasma TV, a mini-bar and air conditioning. Large rooms, facilities (internet, tv, fridge), cleaness.

The Hotel Don Carlos in the center of Cáceres occupies a building from 1803. It offers comfortable rooms with antique-style furniture and free WiFi. Cáceres Cathedral is just 1312 feet away. Was emailed very good parking instructions with map and pictures - which made the whole arrival...
This stylish hotel is located in a lively area of central Cáceres, 984 feet from the Plaza Mayor. It offers a spa, 24-hour reception and smart rooms with free WiFi. Loved the hotel, staff and breakfast.
Each of the rooms at the Hotel Extremadura have a modern design and free WiFi. It features a seasonal outdoor swimming pool, and is located in the heart of Cáceres and next to Principe Park. Comfortable and clean room. 15 minute walk to centre of town and beautiful old square.
Set in the Main Square, 656 feet from Caceres Cathedral, Hostal Alameda Plaza Mayor has free Wi-Fi. It features a furnished roof terrace, where guests can enjoy breakfast overlooking the old town.
Amazing historic city surrounded by stunning countryside and natural parks. Friendly people and great bars and restaurants. Most tourists flock to Granada, Seville etc and miss out these less well-known cities, which is a shame.
The old town area literally takes you back in time. All the buildings are authentic, and walking around has an exhilarating quality. Immediately adjacent is the Plaza Mayor, with restaurants and a very different atmosphere.
The old town is fascinating to walk around and there are many historical features to admire, dating back to Roman times. On Saturday evening the main square was the scene of a funeral procession with mournful music competing with the disco that accompanies both locals and tourists enjoying their evening stroll or drink in one of the many bars. The student population at the local university adds to the lively atmosphere. There are numerous shops selling regional specialities, such as cured ham and cheeses, also bars and restaurants to suit all tastes.
We stumbled on Caceres looking for a place to stay on the way to Seville. It is beautiful, filled with towers and restored stone buildings, and we had the best tapas and local wines, especially an award winning red wine called Habla del Silencio. The area is a "foodie" haven. Try the bar on the plaza mayor called Minerva..really creative and good tasting tapas, plus inexpensive good wine. We read about it in the Guardian newspaper. I wish we had known more and had more time to try more food, plus there is a nice national park nearby, and visiting the Bodegas Habla vineyard would have been rewarding. It deserved more than a stopover on the way to Seville.
This is a bigger city but with a very small ancient city center. There's probably not too much reason to spend much time in the modern city as it's very much like other mid-sized 50,000-100,000 person cities in Spain, or in Europe. Lots of middle class families. Not the prettiest architecture. The ancient city center, however, is mind blowing and gorgeous! It's a Unesco World Heritage site, has some amazing restaurants and bars, and is visually stunning. A day or two there is likely enough.
Caceres old town reflects the riches garnered from the conquest of the Americas. It later fell into decline for a few centuries, yet the compact complex of palatial homes survived. Its a beautiful old town. Be sure to take an evening stroll, the ambience is dream-like. Its a great stop en route between Madrid and Sevilla. We recommend Trujillo and amazing (Roman) Merida as well. And there are many other towns we wish we had been able to explore in this region.

The location was perfect with a great view of the Plaza Mayor and the beautiful old city. There are lots of really great restaurants around. The staff was extremely helpful and always pleasant. Offered great suggestions for dinner and helped when we had any questions. Breakfast was very nice and the parking arrangement they have with Parking Obispo Galarza was great. We took our car in and out a couple of times and could always find a spot and the price we paid at the hotel was very reasonable.

Nice and clean hotel in a well kept beautiful old house. Staff was also really friendly and it was good being able to use hotel's parking garage as in old Caceres parking spaces are few.

The staff are AMAZING. Helpful, attentive and funny. They've offered to help me even when i didn't ask and were always checking if there was anything i needed. The manager even walked me to the hire car company and introduced me to the manager there. The hotel is spotlessly clean and so was my room. I slept the best i have in a very long time!!!. There is also a lovely lounge with TV and microwave if you want it. It's very close to both bus and train stations and very close to the beautiful old town. In fact i didn't want to leave, so i stayed another night!
