Loved the spacious rooms. Very comfortable beds and overall fantastic stay. Clean and very friendly staff welcomed us. Parking was easy, right outside the hotel and we were allowed to bring in our precious senior dog. Our dog is a huge part of our family so it was amazing to find such a nice hotel, also welcoming pets.

The hotel was very conveniently located close to the main entrance to the campus, as well as many delicious restaurants within walking distance in downtown Davis. It’s a newly renovated hotel that is clean and modern. The free continental breakfast had a lot of options for a light breakfast, which worked for us. The staff were friendly and accommodating.
The University of California-Davis and Davis Farmers Market are one mile from this La Quinta hotel. The hotel features an outdoor pool, free Wi-Fi and rooms with a flat-screen TV.

Random thoughts: I enjoyed staying in the cottage. Starbucks coffee in the lounge was fine. The coffee shop Delta of Venus across the street even better. Bed was fine with pillows of assorted firmness levels (necessary!) and I loved the jacuzzi tub. Nice fluffy towels, an efficient two-zone heating system. The staff was welcoming and helpful. The location was fabulous—walking distance to all of downtown Davis. I had a great time sitting on the patio when the weather warmed up.

Art museum movies shopping
We enjoyed walking all over
Bummer was Hotel was falling apart No Elevator for our 6 days stay we were on the second floor of the hotel so we had to climb lots of steps to get to and from our room the ice machine was broken on our floor and when we first arrive for four hours no water
But all the staff and the managers were all very nice there and pleasant, very good breakfast and that was it

Great place to stay in Davis.
Great place to stay in Davis. Close enough to UC Davis that we didn't have to get up early for Aggie Day. There were good restaurants nearby (highly recommend the Japanese one) and a fab grocery store.

Be prepared for a friendly hotel that has slipped away from its previous high standards, with rooms badly in need of a facelift. It has all the facilities, though some are slightly shabby. It definitely needs tighter management and staff with better training.

The hotel met my expectation.
The hotel met my expectation. However, I was charged about $15 over the price that was shown during booking and confirmation. I asked why but was told it was for incidental and would be refunded upon checked out. It was not refunded when I checked out. In fact, I was not given a receipt even I had asked for one. Booking.com has not done anything to help me to resolve this situation. It is not so much about the $15 but it is the principle of the hotel not meeting its advertised price.

The city is beautiful the food is fantastic.
The city is beautiful the food is fantastic. It is possible to visit many places by walking and there are good public transport options to Sacramento and the Bay area. Davis is definitely one of my favorite places.

I lived in Davis for many years, so I know where I want to go when I am there. I recommend the Davis Food Co-op for bulk foods, organic produce, and spices hard to find elsewhere. There is an Asian market on Fourth street. The Farmers Market is Wednesday afternoon and Saturday morning. Davis Ace Hardware has a good selection of kitchen wares, towels, and napkins. Pence Gallery on D Street and The Artery on G Street have original art for sale. There are independent book stores downtown, one for new books and toys, another for used books. There are three movie theaters downtown - one for indie films. The arboretum and university campus are favorite places to walk. Unitrans buses can take you around town - walk down third street to campus to get on board. There is a variety of restaurants on Second and Third streets, E and G Streets, and the university student union on campus. Indian and Nepalese food are especially good. Amtrak service is frequent.
This freshly-remodeled former Motel 6 is a fun and conveniently-located place to stay in Davis. Guests here are in the very walkable heart of downtown, and just blocks from the campus of UC Davis. Also - great shower with plenty of water pressure, and good air conditioning for hot afternoons/evenings. Friendly staff too. They have a free breakfast, but I didn't have time to try it. There's a lovely breakfast/lunch cafe across the street too.
The service was good , the room was ok they changed my room 3 times and the last time the bathroom was clogged I called front desk many times to come fix after several attempts I went downstairs to get a plunger and fixed myself ! My room never got room service , it’s a shame I’ve stayed in these hotels before and never had a problem in fact stayed in one in Davis closed to campus and it was great . I will never come back to this location
Breakfast was not included. Location was great for visiting UC Davis, walking around downtown, hiking the arboretum trails, etc. For those who prefer walking, this location is perfect. The room was huge, with an amazing bathroom. Quiet, and comfortable.
I like that it was super close to UC Davis campus for my son plus it was close to everything with restaurants and activities. The hotel was clean and room was spacious. First time exploring Davis and we all had a great time. Definitely will come back!
This hotel is very new and is absolutely fantastic super well appointed modern and very comfortable. It’s Kitchenette area and an island dining is amazing . I would say 9.5 / 10. It’s well guarded with security during the night.
The breakfast was wonderful. So many hotels have cut breakfast offerings, but this had everything--and it was good. The bed was the best part of the experience. I slept much better than I usually sleep in hotels.
The location is great - within walking distance of everything in downtown Davis. It's just at the edge of the downtown area, so it was still quiet. The shower was great, good hot water and water pressure.
Beautiful set up, nice yard, good location walking to downtown Davis and UC Davis.
We got a king suite with separate living area. Staff is very friendly. Excellent!
