Proper pub, lovely atmosphere, great food, large selection of local ciders etc. staff were extremely accommodating & kind. Every pub should be like this one. Room was very well done out. Bed very comfortable & spacious. Immaculately clean. Genuinely flawless. Roast dinner is a top draw as as-well as breakfast being right up there. Would/will definitely return

We were there on a Sunday and it was raining pretty heavily. Only a couple of places were open. Luckily we got into YFan earlier and had a lovely rest and a tea while waiting for our room thanks to the hosts. They made our stay more pleasurable.

For business and just an overnight stay, we didn't spend a great deal of time exploring.
I would definitely revisit though.
Roads are clearly marked and there is lots of car parks or on street parking depending on the length of your stay. Quite hilly in some areas so worth driving around for 5 minutes to find somewhere more suitable if needed.
Morrisons has a large car park limited to 3 hours.
We visited the Courthouse for an evening meal and would highly recommend this pub. It's just lovely!
Plenty of seating both inside and outside, with a view of the castle.
Food and drink was good and the staff were polite and friendly.
We also visited the Piccadilly for a game of pool. A quieter pub (Tuesday) but both locals and staff friendly.

We always enjoy Caerphilly and found Ty Castell an excellent place for our needs. Steve was a great host, friendly & very helpful. We walked wherever we went & had no problems with that. Only a 2 night stay this time so we ate at Wetherspoons & Red Kite both quite reasonably priced & good food.

The Castle is huge and really interesting especially when there is an event going on - people all dressed in period costumes doing what they would have been doing back in the period they are representing. Lovely Italian restaurant overlooking the Castle.

We had a family wedding at Caerphilly Castle.
We had a family wedding at Caerphilly Castle. Can't recommend the castle enough, the grounds are fantastic and a great setting for wedding photographs! We stayed at Ty Castell Guest House which is a 15 minute walk from the castle and very good.
The property was centrally located with excellent views of Caerphilly castle right across the road. The apartment was delightful; bright, airy, clean and fully equipped. There was tea, coffee, bread and milk left for us which was a lovely touch. I’d highly recommend this place and would definitely stay here again. There is also an overnight security guard who was so lovely and accommodating.
Room was lovely and clean, bed was the most comfortable we have slept on. Had a great night's sleep. We were there for a sixtieth birthday party in Caerphilly and found the location perfect as we could walk Into the centre and from the train station. We will definitely stay here gain next time we visit. Didn't have breakfast so cannot comment but it smelled lovely.

Very friendly and interesting hosts. About 20 mins walk to Caerphilly where we had an excellent dinner in an Italian restaurant called Volare
