The room itself was great, clean and tidy - much better than we had anticipated for the price we paid. Bathroom was lovely and the toiletries were a nice addition. Breakfast was wonderful and the staff we encountered were all friendly, nothing was too much trouble. Location was great and it is was so reasonably priced, we won't hesitate to book again.

I love Weston as it suits me 100%.
I love Weston as it suits me 100%. Long beach walks on a sunny day, you can’t beat it. I don’t go in any sea’s in the Uk or abroad as there all
Polluted, ask any surfer in Cornwall or Australia.
You can find great food to eat and not at rip off prices like some resorts. The Sovereign shopping centre is lovely and there are many retail parks to visit. Yes the town can look a bit shabby but what town doesn’t in the Uk. I go to the coast for a walk along the beach. If I want towns, I can stop a home. Some say it’s run down, lol Britain is run down. Trust me there is a lot of wealth in Weston, just see the amount of Lamborghini’s and other very expensive cars driving about. I’ve found people that moan about Weston don’t really know it. But each to their own. I’m often asked how come I’m always tanned, and I love replying cos I’m always down Weston. Proof, see how tanned the people who own the donkeys are. So I get reasonably priced holidays, what more can you want.

We tried Weston Super Mare for the first time.
We tried Weston Super Mare for the first time. Nice place, tide goes out way too far but we found the area pretty, clean and easy to get around. The New Birchfield Hotel was a nice place to stay, pet friendly, clean and plenty of refreshments in the room.

The British seaside is often not well regarded these days - but if you're looking for a family break in the UK I couldn't recommend Weston more. Ignore the YouTubers capitalising on the 'fall of Britain' hype and just go and have a wonderful family break. There's wonderful brunch with a sea view, there's restaurants all along the front including the truly wonderful Italian Il Michaelangelo which serves probably one of the best real Italian style pizza in the whole of the UK let alone the town. You always feel safe, welcome and happy.

Like so many British seaside towns, W-S-M is a mix of rather rundown areas and plenty of evidence of past grandeur. However, unlike so many other similar places there is little of the frankly unsuitable modern developments which soon deteriorate. Night time is generally peaceful after closing time and there does not seem to be a great deal of the unsavoury characters that mar other seaside towns. Perfect place for a family holiday in the traditional sense, complete with donkeys and carts!

The location is a lovely walk along the seafront and far enough from the centre that you can simply enjoy the sound of the sea.
The staff are all incredibly friendly.
Lots of the guests during my stay had mobility issues, obviously check with the hotel before you stay, but it seems that they are well prepared in terms of access and parking was available directly in front.
Location was perfect, hotel was right on the seafront. Breakfast was delicious, lots of choice; a selection of cereals, full English breakfast and continental available, a selection of pastries. All hotel staff really friendly and welcoming. Hotel room was very clean, modern decor and plenty of space inside, shower good, room came with sea view.
