Nelson has great character. Beautiful buildings, excellent restaurants and an amazing setting on. kootenay Lake. The only issue we had was parking was difficult to find but then, it was Valentine’s Day so maybe it’s not always so bad.

Nelson has many well preserved buildings from the mid 1800s

It is beautifully situated and the setting is picturesque. However the town is not pretty with too many ugly buildings of an industrial nature near the shoreline.

Stunning little city with independent shops and eateries all within a couple of blocks. The river walk to the park and beach was lovely. Even the scenery from the car journey to get to Nelson was fabulous!

Nice little town.
Nice little town. Historic downtown with shops and restaurants, some of them open till late at night. Beautiful beaches close by. Taghum Beach, Six mile beach (with white sand -careful do not go and swim on the tip of the beach!), Kokanee Creek Provincial Park Beach are the most beautiful.
Villa Motel was a perfect experience. We have stayed in Nelson many times, but not here. It will be our go to next time. Bed was SO comfortable, and having a pet with us was not an inconvenience. Staff were friendly, and let us check in early as it was pouring rain! Not fun walking around Nelson in the pouring rain! They were very accommodating. Room was very clean. Will stay again, and highly recommend it.
The comfort, easy going nature, the people coming in and out, handiness of staying there when in Nelson, heat of the room, the manager Cindy was fantastic with everything and so was Kelly who worked there for anything I needed during my stay - made to feel very comfortable staying especially for the first time in a hostel. Would recommend to anyone to stay there and have done so since I left
When I came for check in there was no one at the desk and I had to call several times and knocked on the door but there was no response. I left from the hotel and finally someone answered my call so i did checked in. I got late check out and early check in for the other room. That was great and helpful. Staff was friendly and stay was comfortable.
The Hotel has been very tastefully renovated recently. We found it charming and comfortable. The location is fantastic as it is in the middle of everything in Nelson. Downstairs there are some good options for breakfast lunch and dinner. Classic dishes were very satisfying.
All the staff was friendly and very helpful.
great hotel in nice location. The room was nice and spacious. We enjoyed the mini fridge and table as we ordered in food. the beds were comfortable and the curtains were nice and dark. the kids like the vending machine, pool and hot tub!! we really loved the off leashed dog area on the water.
Super comfortable and relaxed. Felt like staying in your own place away from home. Great location and parking. Warm. Recycling. The fully fledged kitchen in the room was ideal for when we wanted to make dinner at home. If I'm back I'm Nelson I will try to stay here again .
The hotel was a very centrally located in suited our purposes for everything we needed to do in Nelson. The facilities within the room were fantastic, the bed was super comfortable. We were fortunate enough to have a room with a little patio as well and that was fantastic.
An absolute gem of a place in Nelson. Tucked away in the corner but an easy walk into town and lovely surroundings. Couldn't have felt more welcome. Very well stocked and has everything you need. We were four staying there and we felt like we had plenty of space.
Amazing staff that was very polite kind and helpful. Very well preserved and updated historical hotel. Loved that they had the opportunity to utilize the sister property with pool and other amenities. We did not use these however on this visit.
Perfect location with views of the lake and access to a beach. Nelson is a short drive away. The suites are comfortable with small kitchens. We’ve stayed here several times and it’s always been wonderful.
Great location right downtown. It's a small, unique hotel with a European feel. Sauna and roof top hot tub were great. Also excellent Thai and Sushi restaurants on the main floor.
The location is great, right in the centre of town. The rooms are small and clean. No facilities in the toom but the have a guest lounge. The hotel really is nothing special tbh.
The hotel was amazing and the location was exceptional. Nelson is a beautiful city with lots of restaurants and shops to discover. Value for money I highly reccomend.
