I was a little nervous honestly from reading previous reviews, but it was a good room for the price. Comfortable and was clean for the most part. Didn’t hear too much noise from neighbors

When I arrived I was greeted by my card had declined, I told her I had already paid in advance. She cancelled it and reenter it and then messed up everything. then I end up giving her another card. Then I was charged twice . I was charged on both card. Then the elevator did not work the entire stay.

We have been coming to Kingston for over 20 years.
We have been coming to Kingston for over 20 years. We have enjoyed seeing the changes downtown and all the old favorites and new restaurants and shops.
The Mother Earth Taproom is an always stop. We have met many new friends there. Sugar Hill Pizza is great. The Laughing Owl is a good place for dinner. We love Lovick’s Cafe for breakfast.
The CSS Neuse Civil War Interpretive Center is a must do.

We came to Kinston to dine at the Chef and the Farmer—-which was amazing! We had an excellent breakfast at Lovick’s Cafe the next morning. It was a pretty small city. We only stayed one day but found shopping & navigating around town really easy. All the food we ate there was superb. We will definitely return.

Kingston was an interesting small town.
Kingston was an interesting small town. We came to eat at Chef and the Farmer, which was outstanding. Make sure to try the strawberry cobbler. It’s mouth-watering.
We also visited the town’s farmers market and a community event that was being held close by. Both were very small, but we enjoyed speaking with community members.
We had breakfast at Lovick’s Cafe. We tripped upon this restaurant only to find that in spite of the very small accommodations and elementary school lunch room plates, the food was AMAZING. Evidently, we had discovered a gem.
We also inspected the CSS Neuse Civil War steam run ironclad ram boat.

Stayed at The Red Carpet inn because I went down there to visit my ancestors graves which are on sight at the hotel property. Right where the hotel sits is where a war broke out during the civil war where the Neuse bridge is. If you're a paranormal enthusiast and want to do an investigation, this is where it's at! Plus King's restaurant was excellent to eat at and fantastic ice tea I've ever had. Excellent antique stores around in the area, highly recommend staying in Kinston.

We went to Kinston only because of Vivian Howard's restaurants. Chef and the Farmer was closed, but we were able to eat dinner at the Boiler Room. The Oysters Rockefeller were so tiny I could hardly find them. Our seating wasn't particularly amenable to conversation because the party seated next to us was loud. Of course, it's a bar, so we knew what to expect. An interesting venue--large, warehouse atmosphere with friendly staff.
I had bed bugs in my room. Was moved to another room that had bed bugs. I decided to check out. I was charged for the first night and I have not received the refund for the other nights I did not stay. I was not assisted with finding somewhere else to stay. I am a healthcare traveler and I was left homeless after spending money there. I could call to have them expected. That hotel needs to be remodeled and it needs a deep clean.
The hotel was clean and modern. Small indoor pool and hot tub is a plus. The outside patio is great for those wanting some sun. Coffee bar and refreshing water with citrus slices were great, so you can grab some at any time. The rooms were clean and comfortable. We really enjoyed it and will definitely stay there again!
Kinston is not very large, so you can walk from the Lodge to anywhere in town, including a great coffee place, and of course The Chef and the Farmer restaurant. The Lodge is decorated with flair and mid-century style, lots of fun, Breakfast was also good.
This hotel is a "hidden jewel". Very clean rooms. No smoke odor. Toilet and tub very clean. Plenty of hot water. Cold refer. Big TV. Located in downtown Kinston near newer renovated restaurants within walking distance.
I liked the value of the hotel. The pool was great, clean and enjoyable. Check in and out was fast and easy. Room was clean and the air conditioning for the room got real cold and stayed cold which was fantastic.
Staff was very friendly and directed us to the local bear hangout where we actually spotted 8 black bears, a red wolf and lots of other wildlife. Hotel room was comfortable and clean.
