Nice ancient town in middle of Alto Adige wine region.
Nice ancient town in middle of Alto Adige wine region. Home of Gewurztraminer. In one side of town vineyards an apple orchards, in other side woods and mountains. Ideal for active holidays but also for wine and food lovers.

It was brilliant to receive the 'sud-Tirol-pass' which gave free access to (many) cable-cars, public transport and some musea. They have also arranged free entrance for guests to Gretl am See during weekdays, with a large pool and lake access to Karterer See (Lago di Caldaro).

The wine glasses and corkscrew in the room are a nice touch for a hotel located on the wine route. Breakfast was very good, with a lot of selection. Hotel also has a nice pool which unfortunately we couldn't use because of the weather.
