The hotel seems somewhat "upmarket" with distinctive architecture and furnishings and a nice roof top terrace for breakfast. Great views over the water from there. I wasn't there during the day, but it seemed that there might be facilities for business meetings. The amenities in the room were quite nice: a fridge, wall AC, and a desk. A separate shower room from the basin and toilet. Breakfast was good.

A vibrant city with calmer beaches and busy markets.
A vibrant city with calmer beaches and busy markets. The people are incredibly friendly. I would go again as I didn't have time to fully explore.
On the plateau, explore the historic memory island of Gorée, go to the HLM market, the textiles market in Sandaga, the food market of Kermel. If you have time, go to the beach in Ngor and swim to Ngor island. Eat some local grilled fish and fresh veges.
Just drink bottled water :)

Senegal has very friendly people with lots of places to see and visit. It's easy to move around either by hailing Taxis or using the Yango ride app.
I enjoyed my visits to the Marché Soumbédioune. Here, you can buy authentic African craft from the Artisanal Village. Nearby is the Soumbédioune sea food market where you can buy a variety of fresh and grilled sea food to delight your palate. I enjoyed a meal of grilled fish and fries here.
The Mosque of Divinity and African Renaissance Monument are also 2 nice places I saw.
Before leaving for Ghana, I stopped by the Sea Plaza shopping mall to buy gifts for my friends and family back at home.

Good for seasoned travelers who like to get with the people.
Good for seasoned travelers who like to get with the people. Senegal is a fast-growing region with plenty of young people. Dirt roads are the main surface in Dakar but once out of town, you will find modern highways.

Hi
My is name is Al. I was born in Guinea but grew up in America. I was in Senegal to visit families.
Good:
The place was wonderful. Clean. The pool was clean and everything else.
The bad
The big refrigerator was not working but the provided small one new. Some of the toilets has issue draining water. But with the host Babacar everything was possible. The guy was excellent, nice and very disponible. Always available when needed something. If it wasn’t him, I wouldn’t have stay there during my stay. Because of the address

I felt safe and there were many things to see. The people I encountered were beyond friendly and helpful. I took a taxi a few times and the drivers were fair. I walked around the city during the day and at night and felt comfortable. The beach was very nice and clean.

Traveling by bus from Gambia to Senegal was not a good...
Traveling by bus from Gambia to Senegal was not a good experience. The actual Driving time should have been not more than 6hrs but we took almost 11hrs due to check points....The officers were very aggressive, rude and very very unfriendly. Maybe flying might be better. I will never go into Senegal via bus from Gambia. Ironically the bus from Gambia was a Gambia government owned commercial buses.
This hotel is an excellent value. The location is safe and Almadies is a great neighborhood central to lots of shops, restaurants and nice hotels. The staff was AMAZING with all of our requests, holding our luggage and arranging laundry to be done. It’s not a 5* hotel but it’s well designed, clean and comfortable. The staff really made the experience wonderful. Rating was reduced because the pool wasn’t open when we stayed.
It’s my second time at the hotel in a month. As I said previously , the staff is very friendly , polite, helpful and professional especially the receptionist crew. TERANGA is the best word to describe all of the Senegalese staff of this hotel. I
I enjoy the standing of the hotel and the rooftop is a plus , I hope the hotel will make a better use of it ( DJ, cocktail bar ) same for the swimming pool area.
This is an excellent choice if you wish to stay close to VDN. My room was spotless with a nice decoration, the shower ran better than in other hotels I stayed while in Dakar. The lady at the reception went out of her way to address my questions. I opted for a dinner at the rooftop terrace during the sunset and the yassa chicken tasted great. Very good value for money, would stay here again in the future.
The property was clean, the staff were great, and the food was delicious! The decorations are so befitting of a Senegal travel experience. The staff made our stay inviting!
However, be prepared to have water over the entire bathroom floor due to no shower doors. Showering was a tad difficult because water was everywhere. An important missing detail to a pleasurable stay!
Lovely hotel with great staff. Its a lil oasis off a busy road and nothing was too much. Restaurant staff were fun and dj was amazing. Reception staff were very accommodating help us source products to buy and allowing us to use a room after check out to change ahead of our night flight. Would recommend and stay again if ever in Dakar
For Senegal standards, the room was above average. Of course it was simple, but the building was new and the bed comfortable, and the price was similar to other properties. Conveniently located in between Dakar and the airport (I gained around 20 minutes by staying there instead of in the city in my last night in Senegal).
Awesome location overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. It is near the center of Dakar and commute isn’t very expensive. The owner was very kind in offering guidance about events and lit locations we could visit. He always answered our calls and questions. We will definitely rebook this property if we visit Dakar again.
good location in the heart of dakar plateau near the train station, the port, the two markets kermel and sandaga and some good restaurants, really friendly and helpful receptionists. hotel and rooms a bit old and rusty, but the calm and green courtyard is nice. one of the rare affordable hotels in dakar.
Although the property was booked AND confirmed. We were in formed the day of arrival that it was not available due to it being rented out for the month. This put my family in a tough and dangerous spot…arriving by car in Dakar at night looking for a hotel on the fly.
The hotel is located in the only neighbourhood you’d want to stay in while in Dakar. A very quiet location, a stone’s throw from the beach and some good restaurants and cafes. The hotel sports a fantastic lush and tropical inner courtyard with a swimming pool.
This hotel has to be the best value in Dakar. It wasn’t just a hotel room. It was a one bedroom apartment with a full kitchen and two bathrooms. It was amazing. The service was incredible. For the price there is absolutely no way you can beat this place.
This hotel is situated on the fourth floor of a residential apartment building, where ordinary Senegalese people seem to live, which was good for me to experience. It is also centrally located in Dakar, with all points of interest within an easy reach.
- Great location on the beachfront. I moved from another hotel in Dakar so that I could leisurely explore the Ile de Ngor and have a beach day. Nice atmosphere at the beach bar and a great place for watching the world go past.
The room was nice and clean. The pool and beach area were inviting, clean and relaxing. The breakfast buffet had many options and the food was excellent. We stayed in a few hotel in Dakar and so far this has been our favorite!
Pleasant hotel in colonial style, well located a few blocks from the University of Dakar. Good food on terrace overlooking the ocean. Breakfast in an aerie above the restaurant.
