Located in the city centre next to the small Suze canal and the pedestrianised shopping zone, the Mercure Biel hotel is easily reachable on foot from the main station. The hotel felt new and was very clean. The staff at both check-in and check-out were very friendly and helpful. The attendant at check-in let me know that parking in the street was free and where to go. The free breakfast was the best one on my 10-day trip (just stayed here 1 night). My favorite part was when I returned the electrical adapter (as I had left mine at home), I asked if the hotel sold them since it designed for all European and US/AUS connections and the attendant let me have it free of charge. That alone made me a customer of Mercure in the future.

Courtyard by Marriott Biel Bienne features a fitness centre, garden, a shared lounge and terrace in Biel. This 4-star hotel offers room service, a 24-hour front desk and free WiFi. Nice hotel, close to ice skating rink, and within walking distance from the train station (about two blocks). Simple but good breakfast is available as well.

Hotel Schlössli - Free Parking is located in the village of Ipsach and just 400 metres from Lake Biel. It offers a lovely garden terrace and an elegant restaurant. I liked the quietness of the place and the very friendly and welcoming staff.
