The peace in the countryside, watching the ponys and horses. It was such a lovely peaceful weekend, getting back to nature but having the bonus of an on suite! Cooking on the bbq, never fried an egg on a bbq before, was so amazing. We had amazing weather too which was a bonus. Janice and Alister were amazing hosts, nothing too much trouble, cupcakes on arrival a nice touch. Bacon, sausage, eggs toms and mushrooms for breakie (to cook on the bbq) was so amazing too. We will be returning. Thankyou so much.

The plugs, some with USB, made charging mobiles etc very easy. There was good hanging for clothing and drawers for clothes. The en-suite had a good shower. The food was excellent both for dinner and breakfast and the staff were all friendly. Although we were not local customers in the bar were friendly. It’s our little safe place to escape to whenever need a little break. The staff are welcoming and friendly. The rooms are full of character and charm. The food is first class. Lovely beer garden. Plenty of parking. Very peaceful place in Smarden which is a lovely village. Close to other parts of Kent which are worth a visit too.

We enjoyed a Sunday roast and breakfast was exactly what we wanted. we had plenty of tea and coffee with fresh fruit, cereals and of course a full English breakfast.
