Hotel Duomo is just 15 steps up the stone stairway from Orvieto's majestic Gothic Cathedral. All rooms feature air conditioning, an LCD TV with DVD player, and a small table with 2 chairs. Some offer views of the Cathedral. The hotel was very well-appointed and my room was very inviting and comfortable. The view of the Duomo even on a very rainy day was a bonus. The hotel is perfectly located for seeing the sites and enjoying the restaurants and shops. The breakfast was varied and delicious. I would highly recommend staying at Hotel Duomo.

Hotel Il Palazzo is set in the left wing of Palazzo Bartocci Fontana, a 16th-Century building halfway between Assisi's Basilica of Saint Francis and Piazza del Comune square. Free WiFi is available throughout. Love everything about the hotel. It's located close to key attractions on the street in the middle level of the hills. Easy to walk up and down. Staff are very helpful. The street can be noisy during daytime but turns quiet and peaceful in the evening.

Public transport is nearby and can connect you to the main railway station in just 15 minutes. Friendly staff can assist you with tourist information, tours and hotel reservations. The hosts were fantastic. The breakfast was unbelievable and so delicious.

Set within a renovated medieval building in the heart of Orvieto, Palazzo Piccolomini is a 4-star hotel a 5-minute walk from the Cathedral. Rooms successfully mix classical design with modern comforts. The hotel is located in the old city area, so if you are traveling with the car, better if the car is not too big, since the streets are very narrow. We stopped right in front of the hotel to offload the luggage, but then you need to drive to the covered parking 5 mins away and walk back to the hotel (also maybe 5-7 mins with elevator - so no issues). The hotel staff is very friendly and kind, gave us good advises for the restaurants and the places to visit. The hotel room was of a good size and comfortable. Location is great, as everything then is in the walking distance. We would come back to this hotel.
