Absolutely wonderful stay at Saltbush. We were greeted by a lovely, friendly man (his name escapes me) who gave us a great recommendation for a butcher so we could get some steaks for dinner. The entire place is cozy and rustic. We didn’t use the baths but they looked so cool! Rooms were spacious, our cabin looked out onto some grass with kangaroos grazing, which was a delight for our 9 month old. It had everything we needed, including wine glasses, I only wish we’d bought a bottle from them!
Highly recommend, we had a lovely little stay :)

Qantas; Stockmen’s Hall of Fame, close together.
Qantas; Stockmen’s Hall of Fame, close together. Nice shops in Eagle St, Main Street. Loved that the streets are named after birds. Drive to Winton was easy in morning. Temp 35-38 deg, not too hot.
Our teen grandsons enjoyed the museums and the train trip to get to Longreach on Spirit of Outback. A great adventure holiday for us all.

We loved the friendly people.

We loved the experience of being away from busy towns.
We dined at the RSL and the hotels and the food was good.
We used Golden West Tours to travel to the Darr River Homestead which was an excellent experience. They also took us on a day trip to Muttaburra also excellent.
This tour company is absolutely brilliant.
We had a fun filled friendly very informative time.

I visited the QANTAS musem very briefly, and plan to return and see the full tour as well as the Stockman's Hall of Fame on my way back through as I was travelling through Longreach to Mount Isa, but I highly recommend a visit out there to one and all.
And I have sooo mannny places to see and explore.
It's a fabulous place to explore and the weather is so beautifully warm and sunny, what's not to love?
