The hotel is well maintained and common areas were very clean - less than 5 minutes walk from Akita train station.
Good bedding, comfortable premium room with access to the lounge for tea time, cocktail hour and breakfast with a buffet and very attentive service. The rooms were spacious, clean, and comfortable, offering a pleasant stay overall.
A wide selection of restaurants, cafés, pubs, and convenience stores can also be found within a short 1-2 minute walk.
I had a great welcoming when I had to check, the staff was very kind and spoke excellent english but also didn't mind me trying to speak Japanese.

The house was very homey and comfortable. Host added all the little things which made our stay very comfortable like Japanese lollies to share. Instructions of using the appliances were clear. Host also added things to eat and do around the place.

The staff were professional and accommodating (without being condescending). The front desk clerk who helped us with check-in explained all matters clearly and concisely, even surprising us with a complimentary buffet breakfast -- with its variety of meals (rice-based, bread-based) and unlimited drink service. Their basil chicken was *chef's kiss*; their purple rice, filling. The frozen mangoes were perfect. Kudos to the gentle staff who checked if offerings needed replenishment.

The view of the mountains and houses was nice. I saw the sunset. Room was clean and comfortable. During the hot hours of the day, I felt tempted to stay in my room. Wifi was stable. Amenities were available for me to take from the first floor lobby, including bath salts, which I enjoyed as well!

I like the relaxed pace of Akita.
I like the relaxed pace of Akita. Learn about local history at the Akita City Folk Arts Center and Senshu Park; visit the art museums and explore Akita Arts Theatre Mille Has. I think it's also a great place to rent a car and drive out to the Oga Peninsula, or to one of the many onsen ryokan, or to Lake Tazawa. The scenery is beautiful, people are friendly and the food is hearty and comforting. Take the Shinkansen to Kakunodate and see the restored samurai residences in the cherry blossoms or the fall colors, and you can even try wearing kimono or take a rickshaw ride with a local guide. Don't forget to stop for Michinoku Pudding before getting back on the Shinkansen.

We parked at Times Parking next to Crown Plaza hotel and the...
We parked at Times Parking next to Crown Plaza hotel and the parking lot charged us 3200 yen for over nigh parking. We found not place to clarify why such high as the signage said maximum was 700 yen for over night.
I booked a counter table in 长屋酒场， but they offered sitting on tatami
with a few small tables... eating for 1-2 hours... just not comfortable. we left early and found not so good experience.

My only purpose to come to Akita was to visit the Shrine of our Lady of Akita. The famous tears shedding statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary. I'm a catholic. That was my personal pilgrimage.
I love Akita. People are polite and honest. They arr vwey helpful and try their best to communicate in English.
The place is very clean and peaceful. I love to live here.
