We truly enjoyed our stay, even though it was only for one night. The room we stayed in was located in what used to be the storehouse of a samurai castle. It was an enormous two-story suite. The renovation is exceptional, with carefully preserved historical features and thoughtfully selected period details throughout. Every decorative element and even the tableware perfectly matched the atmosphere. The room was spotlessly clean, the craftsmanship and attention to detail were outstanding, and everything was finished to the highest standard. The private onsen-style bath was a unique and memorable experience. The service was exceptional from start to finish. The staff were warm, attentive, and provided hospitality of the highest standard. Dinner at the adjacent restaurant was outstanding. Every course was even better than the last.

Perfect location (0.5seconds from the station), with a GREAT restaurant inside with local cuisine (we had dinner here), great breakfast (not huge, but with everything great, oishii onigiri), great staff and good sake. Spatious room, we even had a sofa inside of it!

The food was excellent! They have a garden around the hotel and they grow and farm their vegetables themselves. We had a very filling bento box dinner that was filled with amazing food. The place was clean, cozy, and warm. We'd love to stay longer if we could.

Love the onsen and you can enjoy it privately for 30 minutes. Plus, the onsen has a great view of the lake. The staff can’t speak English, but it was not a problem for my family since we could speak Japanese. However, they make an effort to have some signage and information about the hotel in English. One of the staff even gave my son a Kamen Rider keychain. The hotel maybe old but it is well maintained. Wish we could have stayer there longer.
