Right on the beach, with miles to walk. Beautiful setting with pool and the palm trees. Having access to full kitchen is wonderful. Very convenient small market two doors away. Ricardo was so amazing, he offered to give us a ride to the airport on our last morning! Gracias, Ricardo!

While there are 2 casitas… I stayed in 4 person tent - Glamping. HOT in the day - cool in the night. Cama very comfortable. 2 fans in the tent and plenty of electrical outlets. Unless you like cold showers - wait until Tanaka warms up later in the dia. Beach a very short walk away. Bueno restaurantes close by. Cocina on property - muy bien. This is a Very Good Hostel! Sebastian/Samara are muy bien personas……. Safe/secure….relaxed….. I have stayed in Hostels/Glamping all over UK/Europe…… this is one of the BEST.

Being next to a restaurant was great! The room was roomy and the bathroom nice and large. Everything was clean and while the location is a little bit away from the main town there is great access to the public bus or a cab. The location was great for the beach. The pool was very nice.

It's a small, quiet place.
It's a small, quiet place. All people we met were very friendly.
Pretty basic stores to buy food. Mostly just snacks for sale.
It's a beautiful place, but a lot of areas are covered with garbage and broken down houses.
It seems a peaceful place. But we didn't see a policeman the whole time. We were told there is no municipal government there, everybody does essentially what they want (i.e. nobody bothers with permits for building, etc.) One long-term resident called it the "wild west." But that's why they liked it.

We spend our winters in the area in a rental but take hotel staycations. Why go somewhere else when the weather is so reliable in Ixtapa area. The people are friendly and the area is nice. Ixtapa Island is a fun day trip.

Zihua is a real Mexican town that us white people have invaded. I am sure they are just as happy amongst themselves, but we pay their utilities. If you want a glitzy hotel, go up to Ixtapa or Cabo. If you have the fortitude, Zihua has more than just tacos and salsa.

Ixtapa is obviously focused on the tourist money. Taxi service is good, but bus schedules are sketchy. If you come to go fishing, you can take a taxi to the Zihuantanejo harbor for 150 pesos. I recommend finding a good taxi driver, as we did, and get his card and use the same driver for all your travel needs. Ixtapa has limited shopping for groceries, but Zihuantanejo has a Sams club and larger grocery stores. The Delfiniti Swim with Dolphins venue has gone downhill and is very expensive. There is limited beach access, but the large hotels now claim their beaches as private.
Dining is costly so come prepared! Be prepared for hot temps with lots of humidity! The tourist trap tours offered are also costly.

This was my first time visiting Ixtapa.
This was my first time visiting Ixtapa.
It is a beautiful tropical area. I felt very safe. Easy to get around in. Beautiful walkways, and bicycle paths. Driving around is very easy. I will be making this a permanent destination. There's plenty of fun and interesting things to do for the whole family!

The location is in one of the best locations while not being on the beach . Excellent restaurants along the quiet one lane street. 3 minute walk to one of the 4 beaches in ZIH
